About David Yates directing OotP (2007): "He was perfect for this. I don't know if he could have directed any of the other ones. This was his story to tell. He's quiet, thoughtful, sensitive. Mike (Newell, director of Goblet of Fire) would sit in his chair and yell at us, or stand up and just be very loud and British. Whereas David will think for a bit, he'll come over, speak a few words, keep it to a minimum. The thing that always comes up with David is finding truth in the characters, truth in the performance, make it real."

Staff Position Open – Funky Fashion Competition // 18 January 2007

We are sad to announce that Ingrid has recently left the staff. She was the one who started Funky Fashion and she did an excellent job running it, but due to other commitments she has decided to step down. This leaves only one staff member working on FF, Julie-Ann, another lovely, young lady who knows a bunch about fashion as well!. However, Julie-Ann doesn’t have as much time as she would like to spend contributing to Funky Fashion. So the staff has decided to hold a competition in order to find 1 or more new staff members to join our team to help out with Funky Fashion on a regular basis.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Someone with a lot of knowledge, insight and interest in fashion.
  • Respectful towards staff members, visitors and Emma Watson.
  • Have respect for Emma Watson and like her. After all, this IS an Emma Watson site and besides doing Funky Fashion, you will help with other staff projects besides FF.
  • Good grammer and English usage.
  • No photo editing program is required. If you have it, that’s good, if not, don’t worry about it. We’ve got plenty of staff members who do.
  • Do not plagerize! Please be honest and produce your own work.
  • Use the images provided.
  • Designing your pages for FF is something a little extra, but we’re more looking for CONTENT and QUALITY of your fashion critique, not how well you design your 1-2 pages.

Below is a selection of images that I’ve uploaded from the 2007 Golden Globes. Choose whatever you’d like out of these and do your Funky Fashion piece on the celebrities you’ve chosen.

Please send your entries to funkyfashion.ew[at]gmail[dot]com. Also, make sure to include your name. Good luck! And have fun! 🙂

Update: A few people have asked what they are supposed to do. The idea is to pick a picture, or several pictures, and then write a Funky Fashion article about them. It doesn’t matter if you like the celebrity or not, this is basically a test to show your knowledge of fashion and how well you write. If you want to design your article you can send that in for your entry. It’s not required though, you can just send in the text of your article, but please make sure to mention which pictures you are writing your article around.

The deadline will be February 3rd.
