About the pressure to be thin (2009):"I've never felt the need to be thin; always being very thin isn't pretty. I'm never on a diet. I love cooking and eat. I make excellent raspberry tarts and amaretti (almond pastries)."

Birthday Project – Part 2 – Big Changes // 08 February 2007

Hey everyone  😆

Well there’s going to be some changes on the second part of the birthday project. We’ve had a great response to our request for poems and it seems a shame to only use 5 of them. So, we’ve decided not to use them in the World Picture Book. Instead we will have a separate project which will include more of the poems you send in, so now you have a better chance of getting your poem published.

But wait, there’s more. 😛

We know that not everyone is a poet, so we’re giving you visual artists a chance too. We’re adding two more parts to the second project. The best of each will be included with the poems in a second book. 🙂

1. drawings, or paintings, or other hand made art

  • they can be of any subject matter, not necessarily of Emma.
  • send us a scan, or very clear photo

2. birthday cards

  • design your own cards with a birthday message
  • the message should be like what you would typically find in a birthday card, not a personal message to Emma
  • they can be hand drawn, or by computer
  • the card should be a single image, suggested size is 400×600
  • we suggest not using pictures of Emma. Don’t you think it would be wierd if you got a birthday card with a picture of you on it?  😉

Send your submissions to emmawatson.project@gmail.com
The deadline is the same as for the poems before, March 5th.

Reminder: Don’t forget about Part 1 of the Birthday project. We had over 90 countries represented for the Christmas project and we are still missing quite a few countries for this project.

Update: I’ve updated the guidelines on the birthday cards.

Getting to the point, when we're sending our photo of a painted,hand-drawn "work of art" so to speak, what information must be included with the e-mail, is there a possibility that you could started posting which art pieces have gotten through, and been authorized, so we know if there was a problem with ours, and that we don't pass the deadline of March 5th, just like what was done in the past, not sure which X-MAS proj, where all cards were posted weeks before the sending date. To Sum it all up: What information do we need to include in the e-mail /// as well – will our names be written on the back of our art, thanks ~ Thank you for your time.

  11. dook says:

Unnamed, your names will probably be written as a caption to the picture. The ones we include will not be selected until after the deadline so it\’s not possible to say now which ones we will use. If there is a technical problem (corrupt picture or something) we will reply to your email. The only information we need is your name, just first name is fine. You can include a comment about your artwork but it is not decided if any comments will be used in the project.

  12. UnnamedUnknown says:

Alright thank you, i asked others members, they helped me greatly as well, but anyhow, thank you very much. Just one last question, might you know when the selection process will start, and the art pieces being uploaded/set on the site for display so we might know who made it, not trying to push any of you to do anything, it's just out of curiosity, thank you.
