“Although Daniel Radcliffe is enjoying the spotlight these days for his stage work in the racy play “Equus,” the real emerging star of the “Harry Potter” franchise is the lovely Emma Watson, whose performance as Hermione Granger is head and shoulders above Radcliffe’s. And even though Rupert Grint is adorable as Ron Weasley, it’s clear both he and Radcliffe are still mugging a bit for the cameras. You can get away with this as a child actor, but it doesn’t translate much beyond puberty. Watson has been more than booked with the Harry Potter roles, but she’ll surely have other offers once the series wraps (and she’d better stick with the Potter movies, or they will be forever marred by her absence).“

I always thought Emma was the better of the trio in the acting stakes. She far out shine everyone in PoA. Hope she has great success after HP too.

I don't agree. Emma's a fine actress but she's no better than Rupert or Daniel. I even think Daniel outshined her in GoF (but this was the only exception). And now from what I've read from reviews of Order of Phoenix, I think Evanna Lynch will probably be the standout of the movie. Anyway, I think they're all great in their respective parts.
:???:Whoever wrote this article obviously has some serious issues. Emma is definitely not the better one from the trio and as far as I'm concerned Dan and Rupert have outshined Emma as the years have gone by. I agree that Evanna Lynch is definitely going to be one of the cast members that will be appraised more so than Emma. At present, Emma is mostly liked by the press for her looks and that's about all I can say about her.

Emma's acting has not improved at the same pace as the two guys. I think they have almost caught up to her in terms of ability. But Emma is quite beautiful and so is more the complete package. She has a better shot at a long career, as long as she does not go down the roads of Britney or Lindsey
I disagree with ppl who are of the opinion that emma is not that great…I think she and danielle are the only characters who have come across more emotional lines and i think she's done em all greatly.As for Rupert I think he is good but his expressions have kinda become monotonous…he needs to change his style.

d ones who thinks dan is better than emma is d one juging by looks not by talent. the only reason that dan is recognized(after how many movies in his belt?) now is because he was given the opportiny to shine. emma though makes the best out of the little screen time and acting chance(or whatever word i cant seem to think of right now)the movie gives her. the same for rupert, the movie just wants him to be funny, not compete for an academy awards. now luna, its her time now. just like hermione in the first movie, this is her movie, her book, her time.

Yes yes…Emma is a great Herminone..I think we all can agree on that…But I have ONE question: What had she done besides HP….NOTHING…So untill she proves that she can "throw" Hermione away. Untill then in my oppinion she´s no better than Rupert and certaintly NOT better than Dan
Well judging by the comments, we certainly have a lot of fans of Emma's acting don't we? 😉 I'm sorry if I upset a lot of Dan fans, but (IMO) in the HP series, Emma is way above him in the acting stakes. I'm not saying he's a bad actor, (well, apart from his inability to do a decent crying scene, :lol:) but he just still seems a little wooden in certain scenes. It just seems to flow naturally with Emma. Well, for me its obvious that Emma is superior in acting abilities compared to Rupert or Dan (although maybe both of them, and Dan in particular are not as awful as I primary thought). I think its also obvious for most people who… lets just say don't have emotional range of teaspoon 🙂

WOW Chris, you definitely know how to insult someone's acting abilities, so without further ado, I suggest you go and watch GOF again and make sure you're looking at everyone and not just at 'Emma', who just flows so naturally on the big screen, seriously, the girl over exxagerated so BADLY in GOF, that you can't help but think that she's losing what talent she had left. P.S. Unless we're talking about the acting talent of one's eyebrows, then yeah, Emma definitely is waaaaay better than Dan and Rupert.
I think that each one has a different style of acting and different characters and that they all perform at very high standards! They are all great! =D And the PoTD is sooo cute! Lol the little poser!
The ones who love Emma (like me)understand with no problems that she deserves all what they said, she's the better, beloved of the people 😉 But for me she's more than "the better", she's unique in this entire universe 😉
CAT: Excuse me, but I did not insult anyone's acting abilities. I merely pointed out, (again IMO!) that Dan has difficulty with some emotional scenes. As for criticising me for commenting on their acting talents, maybe you should take your own advice! I tried to be serious in my opinions, and here you are talking about eyebrows. And being told to watch the film by you, is not going to alter MY opinions. I don't have tunnel vision, and I don't watch Emma to the exclusion of everyone else. The films are great, and all three stars are good in their respective roles, but I feel Emma projects her talent better than Dan. I'm sorry you think that's an insult.
CHRIS. Your right that Cat had no right to say that about your comments, asit was an opinion. BUT, you really should try to be more open-minded as I'm sure being an Emma fan, your going to like her better than the other actors in HP, but you also have no right to talk about Dan's crying scene in GOF in a harsh manner, which was exactly what it sounded like when you commented on it, because just like you, Dan fans like him better than Emma. So, your somewhat in the same position as Cat. Don't take any offense, but, I'm only pointing out what came to my head after I read your comments.

Okay, personally I don't agree with this at all. I this Emma Watson is a really bad actress most of the times. Sometimes, she is okay. Daniel is okay, but I he will always be remembered as Harry Potter. Rupert on the other hand is an AMAZNING actor. Stupid MSN. 😡
Oh I agree with Chris..Emma's laugh is a bit on the forced side but apart from that emotional scenes r carried out best by her.Since Dan is the lead so he gets to portray more than any other cast member so its not right to compare these two.So comparing her with Rupert makes more sense.

In my opinion Emma isn't better than Rup and Dan. Emma is the better in person (personality), I think she is, but in acting I agree with some of you, and comparing, I think that Emma and Rup are similar, Dan is different, maybe not so good 😕
I think Emma and Rupert are better actors than Daniel. Although, I'm glad people are beginning to recognize the work and effort Emma put to potray Hermione. She deserves it! 🙂

I don't understand why people feel they have to bring down the other two to bring up Emma? I think they're all fantastic actors with great futures ahead of them. There's no need to sacrifice the others just for Emma. I think Rupert, Dan, and Emma's great acting abilities speak for themselves.
