Catrena, I agree with you about the "death glare". 😆 😆 😆 Winnetou, like Grace said, the 3 sisters are not biologically related. They are orphans from different families and are adopted by an Englishman (Great Uncle Matthew). Their hair color in the pictures is as described in the book. I LOVED the book. REALLY HOPE we get to see the film in the U.S.

They are related…they have the same surname "Fossil" (and it is not the name of the uncle who adopted them, which is "Gum")…they are sisters Children Book don't NEED to make "biological/genetical" sense, it's just entertainment for kids…just stop bothering about such minor inconsistencies… Who of you aczually read BS?

i used to sleep with BS under my pillow.. none of the girls had surnames, so they decided on fossil, becuase GUM collected fossils & gave them necklaces, addressed to 'my little fossils.' the idea of the story is that they vow to put fossil into history books.
yep.. pauline was found in a lifebelt after a ship went down, petrova's russian parents gave her to great uncle matthew and posy's mother was a dancer. gum found them when he was travelling around collecting fossils, and he brought them home for his niece. see? lol 🙂

To "Winnetou", I also read the book. It's a really lovely story. Grace, Briana, rii, and the others are absolutely right. To "elizabeth darcy", there are 2 primary women characters in the book – Sylvia, who is Great Uncle Matthew's great-niece and Nana, who was Sylvia's nanny and still lives in the house. Sylvia becomes a mother to the girls and Nana becomes their nanny. My guess is the woman in the pictures is Nana.
