Women’s Wear Daily spoke with Emma while she chatted with guests and ate mini slices at the LONDON show ROOMS closing party last week. Thanks KS987 for the tip.

WWD: What do you think defines British style?

Emma Watson: It’s so funny because now that I’m in America, I’m more able to define it. Before I didn’t have an awareness of another style. I think [British style] has to do with the weather. We have terrible weather. It’s very gray and drizzly so we need things to cheer us up. And I think that leads to a lot of creativity and color, and I think that’s why our designers are so innovative. Because at home we’re kind of up against the elements in a sense. And we need cheering up. I think we do very well with kind of an eclectic mix. We have great vintage and we love to mix and match: high street and high fashion, vintage…and I think that really defines it as well.

WWD: Now that you’re in Providence, what do you miss most about England and London?

E.W.: Marks & Spencer, the supermarket.

WWD: Really? What do you miss from there?

E.W.: The food, the food! Marks & Spencer’s food. I miss English chocolate. And I miss silly things like the adverts on TV.

ABC Family is airing sneak peeks of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows during Harry Potter Weekend. These include clips from the movie, behind the scenes footage and interviews.

Universal Orlando has released a teaser with behind the scenes footage of Emma Watson and other HP cast members filming scenes that will be featured on rides at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park. The opening date will be announced on March 25.

Our project for Emma’s 20th birthday will be a simple idea again. We are going to create, print and send a birthday card to Emma. You can send in pretty much anything you like. If we can print it, we’ll include it. For more details on how to contribute, go to

People ask how to send Emma a gift for her birthday. On her site, Emma has asked people not to do that, and suggests donating to UNICEF, a charity she supports, if they really want to do something to make her happy.

Time for the April calendar competition!
