About not having a stylist (2009):"No, I don't have anyone. I dress myself. For me. It's something that I really enjoy. It's a genuine thing. I really love fashion, I think it's a way to express yourself and it's really fun. I think it's a subject that it shouldn't be taken to an extreme of saying "Clothes, they're stressful!"."

Emma Watson in Vanity Fair – Scans

One Bewitching Coed

Emma Watson appears in the latest issue of Vanity Fair. In the UK edition, Emma talks about university, growing up with Harry Potter, fame, and friends. The US edition of the magazine has cut down the article to almost nothing, a couple paragraphs. Here are my scans from the US edition. I think that third one came out pretty good.

The scans of the UK edition are in the gallery. Thank you to the people who sent these, or sent links. I’m not sure who originally scanned these. I’ll credit if you let me know.

she`s so pretty and she looks like a baby i love her 🙂

  8. Lee says:

The writing for this article is weak. There is a lot of repetition, grammar mistakes, and blocked paragraphs. It's an awkward read.

  9. nebula says:

@ Lee i agree but this article made us all understand her more tho it made me like her even more 😆

  10. Valentina says:

    AAAAAAAAA <3

  11. Vree says:

@Lee I ttly agree! I can't really talk, b/c my writing online (as in comment sections like this) is s***, but I didn't like the style of the article. I felt like the writer didn't read thru his/her work. I mean, the pieces must go thru tons of editing. Do Emma justice, Vanity Fair, and get better writers!!!!!!

  12. Alyssa says:

Great scans. I'm definitely going to buy Vanity Fair soon! 🙂

  13. Celia says:

Awesome! I'm totally going to buy it, but I want the UK version! 😆

  14. bigbookworm says:

I love the pictures of Emma in Vanity Fair. I haven't seen the potd in a long! It is so good to see that picture again!!!

  15. KS987 says:

The article was awesome(UK version). Emma had to deal with a lot of obstacles even at a young age with her parent's divorce as well as juggling her acting career and schooling, and then going to Brown. Through it all she's become an amazing person and I am glad that she finally feels relaxed and happy at Brown. It also shows how many people she's had an impact on over the years. 🙂

  16. Alisha says:

i hope i find this Vanity Fair magazine in India too Emma is looking so pretty 🙂

  17. bigbookworm says:

It's good to know she was able to keep her head up high, during all of that!

  18. Kristin M. says:

This is why sometimes I wish HP was American. I just paid 23 bucks on ebay for the UK edition of Vanith Fair. If HP was an American-based film, we'd get so much more promotion and stuff around here(That's why all we see here is Twilight. It's an American based movie, so everyone in America is treating it like it's God when actually it's 2 hours of a stinking pile of crap). Anyway, I can't wait to read it!

  19. h says:

    it was beautiful 😥

  20. Tango24 says:

Hey! Nice article! One question though, that Burberry guy said that people react to Emma in either an Aw or a Whoaa…what exactly does he mean by that? English isn't my first language, I am not sure if I understand correctly. Is the first thing a negative one? or both positive, only one of them being more positive? thanks for answering!

  21. dook says:

Tango, I would say they are both positive. I don’t know exactly what Bailey was thinking, but you could say “Aww, Emma is so sweet and friendly and down-to-earth, and Whoaa… she is gorgeous.”

  22. Celia says:

dook is right. Christopher Bailey was referring to the fact that Emma can be both sweet/adorable and sexy/breathtaking. 🙂 😆

  23. Sheby says:

So upset that the US version cut it so drastically! It makes sense because she's from Britain, but I wish we would claim her just a little bit 😉

  24. Charles S says:

I'm considering buying Vanity Fair tomorrow, but I don't want to be seen buying a magazine with 2 shirtless men on the front. Oh the shame. I'll have to ask someone else to buy it for me!

  25. 130671 says:

    😆

  26. nate01 says:

She is so gorgeous in the magazine..truly beautiful 🙂

  27. Harald says:

By the way, did you hear that Bonnie wright got engaged to Jamie Campbell Bower?

  28. 130671 says:

    Better him than me…(sorry)

  29. Harald says:

…but you do realize,130671, that if it were you, Emma would certainly appear at your engagement party, and then…who knows!

  30. 130671 says:

😕 Yeah, right, then I`d tell Bonnie to get lost? 😆 No, really, I`m no admirer of Bonnie Wright, but she doesn`t deserve something like that. It`s too serious a topic to make these kinds of jokes about it.

  31. Diana says:

I did read a Article where she said she could imagine to have a "normal" Career (like her Parents have maybe, don't know)after Uni and that a normal Life is more important for her, than the Career. I think she is on the Way to think about the Future it was written to the Vanity Article on a few Sites in the Web today.

  32. Yin says:

:wink:I want the UK adition!~"I was scared before i came to Brown."EM is so lovely !

  33. Abi10 says:

Thanks for the scans!!! I think it´s quite difficult to buy these magazines in Germany???

  34. la le lu says:

—> christopher bailey: "she's the only girl i know who gets two completely different reactions from people: 'Aw' and 'Whoa!'" … haha, how sweet! ^^

  35. britishemmafan says:

Thanks, dook! I can't wait for it to come out so I can buy it!!

  36. dook says:

british, the issue is in stores now.

  37. tabitoo says:

She's awsome. Though I wonder what her plans are for summer break. Wonder if Napoleon and Betsy is a go or not. They say they're looking for a Napoleon opposite Emma's Betsy. I for one vote for "Oliver Martinez". He's only like 5'6 and sexy as hell with a very sexy french accent. If there is a kissing scene it wouldn't hurt one bit to see Emma kissing this older Frenchman. Ooh La La. 😛

  38. andrew says:

Emma looks very beautifull in the potd. 😛 😉

  39. 130671 says:

@ tabitoo I`m not sure what the plot is in Napoleon & Betsy….but I am quite sure Napoleon wasn`t exactly "sexy" on St.Helena. Bob Hoskins is a lot closer to the truth… 😉

  40. Yaroslav says:

I want HQ! (said like "this is SPARTA!")

  41. dook says:

    I would like HQ too.

  42. Lucia says:

I think this is the first time we actually SEE a glimpse of who Emma is and what she has been through. Because usually with stars you almost think nothing affects them; and this article shows me a much more human side of her. I dare say it made me love her even more than I already did, and admire her as an artist and as a human. I wish I had her strenght.

  43. Alyssa says:

I live in Australia and I can't find Vanity Fair in any stores. Guess I'l just have to wait… 🙁

  44. EmmaFan says:

I've printed the whole article and stuck it in my folder with all the other articles I have from Elle and such. She's so pretty it makes me want to cry – but I've never been jealous of her. She deserves it.

  45. dark_krasi says:

Noooo there is no Vanity Fair in my town (and country)… sometimes I hate Bulgaria!

  46. Alyssa says:

The behind-the-scenes video was the best part of the photo shoot, and the pictures. The video just really show how much effort is put into these shoots just for one or two photos. Emma obviously has been doing these for a long time. And as she does more, she just gets better and better. And I all think we are expecting more photo shoots to come.

  47. nastya says:

English is my second language, but even i noticed that there's something wrong about the article. i liked behind the scene video more, than pictures. they're not lively. it's better to see looking at her own photos thoughtfully)
