I think most of you know already that Emma had her hair cut a few days ago. Now Emma has posted a new headshot on her facebook, saying “I’ve wanted to do this for years and years; it’s the most liberating thing ever.” |
Update: Entertainment Weekly gives us a sneak peek at another picture of Emma’s new ‘do’ that will appear in their upcoming Fall Movie Preview issue. Emma talks about finally having the chance to change her hair style after 10 years of Potter. “Oh my God, it was the most liberating thing! The stylist just grabbed the back of my hair and took a whole ponytail of hair out. It felt amazing. I love it. I missed all that experimentation that most teenagers go through, I’ve wanted to do this since I was about 16, so as soon as I had the chance I was like, ‘Right. This is it.'”

@Kristin M – Emma is not the kind of celebrity who wants promotion! She's said that she wants a normal life! BY GETTING THIS HAIR CUT ISN'T NORMALISING HER! It doesn't work on her. I'm glad she likes it – i don't. GROW IT BACK EMMA 😥

So Emma is leaving Burbury…now here's an idea. I have always wondered if maybe Chanel was keeping a seat warm for her, for when she got a little older. Maybe a move to Chanel is in the offing! The new hairdo might fit into that scenario. 😛

Ahhh to short for me , tooo extreme !!! I don't care for the stoner chick , goth girl , Joan of Arc look . I'm still a fan but I'm not obligated to be happy for someone else's hair . I give her credit for having the courage to do it . Face it Emma is smart she knew she was going to take some heat over it .
she looks like she's in her 30's now. :S it's just awful on her. i really hate it but what can we do? the deed is done.
OK, FYI, I really couldn't care if she's cut her hair, it's her hair, and she can do whatever she wants with it… get a mohawk, whatever – all I'm saying is I liked it better long. I still like her just as much as I've always done, it'll take a lot more than butchering her locks to change that. Besides, that glorious long hair of hers will just remind everyone of Hermione Granger, my guess is the change of image is to put Hermione behind her and get on with the rest of her life/career.
What was the reason she did that? Just interesting… When I was drawing her, he hair was kind of problem to me, because it's always difficult thing to draw. Now she has a short hair and I don't wanna draw her in that style. Kind of funny
She just wants to break with the Potter I.D., that's all. It's not easy to do—she needs a radical new look. I'm pretty sure she doesn't do anything without consulting her management. They have a huge investment there, they aren't going to let her do something crazy for no reason.
Emma i know you don't know me or care for my opinion but this was heart wrenching! as a guy hair is the biggest thing for me that attracts me and now you beautiful luscious hair is gone 😥
MaryAnn, I sincerely hope you`re wrong and that Emma is better than that. SHE should be the one who tells her management where the journey is going, not the other way round. As far as I know, her management didn`t "build" her up to be the Emma of today, she did that mostly by herself.

well it's nice….idk what was goin thro her head when the hair dresser asked if he/she can do this..lol. i seriously have to see more photos! like emma on the red carpet, dress and all. it'll grow a little, enough in time for the deathly hallow's pt 1 premiere and stuff.

On JJ, it says she's doing promotion for DH in NYC now because she's going to college in September. If someone is a friend to her on facebook/twitter/can contact her, can you please ask her if she'll make it to the movie premieres and talk shows? By the way that JJ article sounded, it seems like she's not going to be able to promote the movie in November. If she doesn't do movie premieres/talk shows/publicity tours, then that plain sucks. SOMEONE PLEASE ASK HER ON FACEBOOK IF SHE'S ABLE TO GO!

Emma still looks beautiful. It's her life, and her hair so she can do what she wants. I found it different at first, but once I got over that I thought she still looked beautiful as always.

Its quite interesting to see the controversy and arguments, tears and opinions that have sprung up. Personally – I like her long hair better, but after seeing the seond pic, I think it's not that bad. I do hope she'll grow it back though. I wonder if Emma knows what people have been saying. Then again, she probably wouldn't mind much. The whole point of her going to Uni is to have a normal life and try some new things out. I do wish she had tried something less drastic though, like maybe dying it [her hair]. All in all, it's not her hair that makes her personality, it's Emma.

With the new hair she is like her mother! She is pretty, but I think that she is better with long hair, But I always be a fan of Emma^^ I hope to see new movies of her soon! 🙂

I think she had all the bloody freedom anyone could have wanted, I mean she had the freedom to make hermione TOTALLY BLONDE in the past 4 films. shes got to experiment she just took experimenting way to far now that hp is over. saying she didnt get to experiment is BS! and now with the hair cut u can really see how her features alone wont alow her to stand out in a crowd. just to blah.. and the bottom pic of her new hair is photoshopped to the MAX they even changed her eye color. the new pic of her on the street is just awful.

Emma looks amazing. It doesn't matter what she does, she still looks beautiful. I love that hair cut on her as much as I love her old hair too. The girl can pull off anything.
I'm sure if she likes it, we'll all get used to it sooner or later. And when her hair grows back, we'll all have something to celebrate! It's like having a daily check at the progress of her hair. And when it's at an ideal length for some people, it won't be likes and hates anymore! 🙂

@ hum weed: Ever have any toughts of what life is about? If she wants to get away from her image of being only and forever Hermione, this is the best way to do it… and it is her good right,too. Any real fan will respect her discision. Perhaps you should just take one of those steadily changing starlets for your idol. Perhaps you don't deserve to be a fan of Emma!

That is really a big Different from all before.I never read so many Comments which are saying she looks bad,ugly and so on.I even read Comments like "Emma Lesbian" ,really I read Comments about that on Twitter and other Sites,no Joke But well she want to get rid of Hermione,that's okay,but it's to short.Short Hair looks not the Best at her.Not all Hair Style's can look great and the Best on yourself. But I think too,that they used Photoshop at this Picture.It looks like there is a lightning in it and I know that you can make that with Photoshop and give the Eyes more Colour.My Friend has Photoshop.Maybe it's just my Option
well, i cant really decide. good for emma for taking such a huge risk! i think she looks a bit like twiggy in the first picture! haha but otherwise.. i dont think i like it her hair was one of her best features!
