About fast fashion and Fair Trade (2010): "It's important to differentiate between fast fashion which is made very quickly for a very small price and Fair Trade fashion. Which means that if you buy a t-shirt which costs £2-3, you just have to do the math and work out how much the person who made it is being paid? So, Fair Trade fashion is still reasonably priced but allows the person who made it to earn a decent living and to be able to feed and take care of their families. It gives them enough money to live with dignity. I'm not saying that everything I wear will be Fair Trade from now on or that I'm an organic purist, it's just a great option and one I always try to make if available. I just try to ask more questions about where the garment comes from. I want to make good choices. I just think it's good to have Fair Trade fashion in the high street."

The New Emma-Watson.net Forums

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

We are excited to announce the opening of our new forum at Emma-Watson.net. As most of you know, we have had a long association with the forum at Emmawatson.net, and that was a great partnership for a number of years. We need to look to the future though and think about long term growth and stability.

We have decided that running our own forum is the best way to build a long lasting community. It will allow us the flexibility to make changes when necessary. We’ll be able to add new features. We will keep a long history of forum threads. We think bringing the site and the forum together will bring new life to both, and help create an active and fun site that will last for many years to come.

Registration is now open. Please join us!

Emma in 15a20, Candy and Elle Girl **Update 2**

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

I think the media frenzy is starting!

Emma is on the cover of 15a20 from Mexico. We have a large image of the cover and a small preview of the article page. The cover promises a giant poster. If anyone gets scans of the feature, please send it in.

Update: Thanks to HarryPotterLa we have another image of Emma from the magazine, and the image above in large size. View the whole article in our gallery.

Emma also covers the November issue of Candy from the Philipines, and they mention an interview. Again, if anyone can send in scans we’d really appreciate it.

And we have a few updates for the Elle Girl magazine from Russia. We have a larger cover image, scan of the article, and a small photo.

Update: Shelly sent us a translation of the part of the article we can see in the above scan.

Elle GIRL: Hey Emma, how do you do in the States? Don’t you miss England?
Emma: Hi! It sounds funny, but I miss my english city a lot. Sometimes I really miss the “greyness” (she means the bad weather). I’ve got the feeling that you have to wear sunglasses in America all the time.

Elle GIRL: What are you doing in your freetime there?
Emma: Having good night’s rest — there’s nothing better (laughs). Otherwise I like eating. And cooking as well.

Elle Girl: Really? And what for a meal did you do for today?
Emma: Toasts with beans. I’m a specialist for them!

Elle Girl: And besides cooking, what do you do?
Emma: In general I’ve a very active way of living, me and my friends like to do some sports-games. And I’m reading often as well as watching movies, for sure.

Elle Girl: Which films do you recommend?
Emma: Well, the thing is, that work is, for me, a real emotional exposure, which means in the evening I don’t feel like watching a intellectal and serious movie. That’s why I’m watching “Sex and the city” to relax.

Deathly Hallows TV Spot 10

Tuesday, October 26th, 2010

Another TV spot for Deathly Hallows aired today. I don’t think there are any new Hermione scenes, but there’s a new scene with Scabior taunting Harry with a jinxed swollen face. Sorry for the video quality, it’s a bit grainy.

You need the Flash to see this video.

Emma’s Future with Burberry

Tuesday, October 26th, 2010

Christopher Bailey recently invited fans to ask questions on the Burberry facebook page. He answered a selection of questions earlier today in a video, and one was “Is Emma Watson going to model for Burberry any time soon again?”

Emma is absolutely a part of many many projects that we do. She is very close to us at Burberry and she is somebody that I find inspiring and exciting and I work with her on lots and lots of different things. So watch this space for new projects that we’re working on together.

We’ll be watching!  🙂

Life at Brown, Scans

Monday, October 25th, 2010

In a new interview Emma talks about her life at Brown, and the end of filming Harry Potter. The interview is from earlier this year during a visit to Leavesden studios. They also spoke to Dan and Rupert, which you can read in the full interview. I’m including the Emma portion below, with some editing to remove errors. Thanks to Burst Bubbles for the tip.

Emma Watson is one of the most instantly recognised girls on the planet but now she’s enjoying the magic of being an ordinary student. The 20-year-old is studying in the US at prestigious Brown University in Rhode Island and has settled into academic life. “It’s hard to choose one thing that I like most about university. I guess I just enjoy the simplicity of my life. I am sharing a tiny room with another girl and I only have space for three or four pairs of jeans and a couple of tops. My life has been compressed but it’s nice.”

Her student schedule in the States is a world apart from the red carpet glamour of being a film star. “I live in a bubble. I don’t read newspapers and I don’t watch TV.”

Emma is also pleased that she has been accepted by the other students. “I was amazed how quickly everyone on campus got over that I was from Harry Potter. I’m going to be there for four years so they’ve realised that they are going to see me most days and have just got used to me.”

The young actress admits she’s had mixed feelings while shooting her final scenes as Hermione. But one plus point has been throwing herself into the rough and tumble of action sequences. “It’s such an emotionally heavy film so it is sometimes nice to have a break from that and do something more physical. There is a giant snake involved, we get picked up on a dragon, dropped in a lake and I nearly get my throat slit. It’s real adventure.”

Emma has got a kick out of being an action girl in two-part epic but she’s also very aware that a huge part of her life is coming to an end. “I have grown up with this character. I can’t tell you how it will feel to walk away.”

And we have a couple scans. Emma is on the cover of TV Digital in Austria, thanks to EmmaEmpire. US Weekly asked “long or short” hair. Gosh, can’t they move on? Deathly Hallows is just a few weeks away. Thanks to Elmira for the scan.
