Still from My Week With Marilyn

An article at the Daily Mail featured a new image of Emma from the film My Week with Marilyn and includes some quotes about Emma from the producer and director.

Executive producer Harvey Weinstein said about Emma, “For ten years she has been this schoolgirl in the Harry Potter films and now you see her as a woman for the first time. She has an elegance about her – she looks like Jean Shrimpton! – plus she has a gift for comedy and drama, and we’re just starting to see her range. I feel we’re going to work together a lot in the future.”

Director Simon Curtis called Emma ‘a proper actress’ and added, “It’s great to have given Emma her first job after Harry Potter

The film tells the story of a week in the life of Colin Clark during the filming of the Marilyn Monroe film The Prince and the Showgirl. Clark, assistant to Laurence Olivier, showed Monroe around the UK after her husban left the country. Emma plays a small but important role of Lucy, a wardrobe assistant, who was the object of Clark’s flirtations. My Week with Marilyn is scheduled to be released in 2011.

Finally something newer than Pauline and Hermione

  4. EmRocksSocks says:

Love the way she looks in that old school garb. 😛 I can't wait to see Emma show off more of her acting prowess.

  5. Jan(a) says:

    @ Chanel: Yes, I definitely agree… 😕

  6. KS987 says:

Ever notice how everyone who works with Emma wants to work with her again? She's addictive. 😛 . She looks gorgeous as Lucy. I can't wait to see her in this role and if she continues acting I think she will have a huge post-Potter acting career.

  7. Window says:

flirting object = some other kiss in 2011? 😕 🙁

  8. Sam12 says:

wtf is with her boobs! they couldnt have done a better job at making them look real? and the wig is awful she looks like a hag! 😕 her carrer post potter isnt gonna go anywhere

  9. Cathe says:

wow!!! what a picture!!!! I want to see her exploring comedy!!

  13. Juzzy says:

Yeah..they could really have done a better job with the stuffing of her bra…!

  14. Marie says:

Her boobs look "weird" because it was the fashion of that time ! If you look to pictures of that period you'll see that women have their boobs in that shape !

  15. Tia says:

It's like a culture shock seeing this picture! Haha, but she looks gorgeous as always, nonetheless. @Marie, it's the era the film is from. They wore awful underwire. If you look at pictures of pinup girls almost all of them are wearing them. Dreadful things!

  16. Tia says:

Scratch that last. Lol @Marie, I see you were also explaining it to someone! Sorry! And that corset makes her look even more ity bity!

  17. Hira says:

no! no! no! no! no! Not the lOok i wanted from her!!! 😥 😥

  18. Hira says:

I think the hairs on her forehead are too short ..

  19. angie says:

She doesn´t look that bad. It´s the classic 50 look

  20. Jen says:

Agreed with Marie. Look up some pictures of classic 50s stars – Marilyn Monroe, for example. The bras then were almost always somewhat pointed. That's the fashion of that time. Emma looks very appropriate.

  21. Harald says:

@ Hira: Hair must be in singular if it's on the head. The rest all over the body is in plural. 😉

  22. Gaelle says:

Agreed with Marie and Jen. I think she looks gorgeous 🙂

  23. andrew says:

can't wait to see this movie when it comes out

  24. Sarah says:

yeah, the boob issue isn't an issue. haha. that's the 50's look, as unfortunate as it is. and i kind of like her with bangs! these are a bit short do to the time era, but i think she looks great whenever i see her with bangs. then again she's just beautiful no matter what. 🙂

  25. demma says:

    looks funny with artificial hair…

  26. hilaryfan says:

no matter if thats the fashion from the time her boobs aint that big! shes not flat but SOOO CLOSE

  27. Joyce says:

    So beautiful <3

  28. Window says:

how about forgetting the topic about the fashion of that field in that time?

  29. Window says:

She looks like little hermione a bit… Isn't it? 🙂 So Sweet 🙂

  30. manisha says:

@Sam….dude, you haven't even watched the freaking movie yet. Why judge now? It's just one pic. I think she looks lovely, and I can't wait for the movie! LOL and the boobs…i think it's just the angel…and a lotta padding i guess???

  31. Nicole Burchell says:

definitely seeing the movie when it comes out 🙂

  32. Tia says:

I really love this photo! I can't get over it! I saw Deathly Hallows for the 6th time today with some friends! It's still amazing! I can't wait for 217 days when part 2 is out!

  33. Lee says:

Why is everybody so obsessed with her appearance? That's clearly not what acting is about. I'm glad Emma is getting less "Safe" roles. If you always look picture perfect you won't be getting anywhere in acting. Look at Megan Fox^^ IMO she looks amazing in this picture 🙂

  34. Lawrence says:

Trust me Sam, compared to what Peggy from MAD MEN looked like in the first season(circa 1960), Emma looks gorgeous in this pic!

  35. Glenn says:

    Nice 😕 🙂 😆

  36. Joyce says:

I actually think the hair, 'boobs' and clothing looks adorable on her. Very fitting. She has such a flawless natural look.

  37. Jan(a) says:

in that scene Em lost a lot of her beauty, but of course not in her real life 😉

  38. CRAPMUFFIN says:

nice, but what's up with her chest haha?

  39. Nat says:

Hi, wow love the haircut on her lol 😛 i'm definitely going to see this! I have a question, do you mind if I use your website banner for the banner of the official emma watson thread on mileyfans.net/forum ? i love it so much and i would give full credit – in fact, there's already a link to your site on it!

  40. Meagan says:

So does this mean she will be speaking in an American accent? Idk if the character she plays in the movie is American or British….

  41. dook says:

I don’t think I’ve seen any information on Lucy, the person Emma plays, but I think she would have been British. The movie, Prince and the Showgirl, was produced at Pinewood Studios, and it would make sense that most of the employees were British.

  42. Jane says:

What photoshoot is the POTD from? I've never seen it before!

  43. Fab says:

Wow, why the freak out? Obviously, it seems most of you don't know how women dressed in that era. Her bangs aren't too short, that was the style back then, and so was that type of bra. Emma looks gorgeous.

  44. Namey says:

Very nice, but her breasts are… hmm.

  45. Valentina says:

Interesting hair colour and style 🙂

  46. Rebecca says:

agreed with Fab. In the 50's and 60's bras were more "coned" shaped. That's why they looked weird through the tops. She looks good as a brunette!

  47. carson says:

new face with emma and so lovely

  48. shiningmoment says:

If you want to know Lucy well, you could read Colin Clark's memoir. I think Google has some excerpts about it.
