Today was the final London press conference and photocall for Harry Potter. Emma Watson and just about every one of the principal cast and crew were there, including Rupert Grint, Bonnie Wright, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, Tom Felton, James and Oliver Phelps, Domhnall Gleeson, Jason Isaacs, Ralph Fiennes, Natalia Tena, David Thewlis, Nick Moran, Michael Gambon, Robbie Coltrane, Warwick Davis, Julie Walters, Helen McCrory, director David Yates, and producers David Heyman and David Barron. Noticably absent was Daniel Radcliffe. A shame he couldn’t make it. We have a selection of photos for you to look at in the gallery, and I’ll have some highlights from the conference up later.

Mugglenet did a live transcript of the conference. Below are Emma’s comments as they wrote them.

so used to having gaps between films, after this last film ended she started getting an itch like “ok i’m ready to go back now” and then i realized i wasn’t. that was the moment i came to terms. it’s difficult to process.

last two films, emma found herself doing something she’s never done in her life. example: had no idea what it’s like to be tortured, or playing a hermione 20 years older.. what’d it be like to say bye to her children. found herself in positions she couldn’t imagine herself being in. also physically.. huge amounts of stunts of running around. big learning curve.

fans seem to think they’re true to the books. there’s no better reward than that.

question for emma: compare the kisses between ron and harry. and would you like to have kissed tom felton. media laughs.

this is really difficult. i need to be diplomatic. well dan isn’t here so it makes it slightly easier. kissing harry for that scene.. it was a figment of ron’s imagination so the kiss had to be passionate. i was half naked and covered in silver paint so that was pretty awkward.

kissing rupert was also awkward. we had just been soaked by a giant bucked of water. we had to pretend it wasn’t coming. both dan and rupert were complete gentleman. *sighs* it’s hard to put our personal history to one side. i don’t think they don’t mind me saying.. kissing gets quite boring if you do it multiple times.

no, i don’t think i would. my 12 year old self yes. 21 year old self.. no.

Emma Watson and Rupert Grint were interviewed for Australia’s Today Show. They talk about the end of HP and how they have dealt with fame – Emma says she has tried to keep her personal life as hidden as she can. She also talks about how the character of Hermione has influenced her life, and she hopes it has for others as well. SPOILERS – includes clips of the film.

Emma, Rupert and Tom Felton were interviewed for Sunrise. Tom talks of playing the villain, Rupert about keeping a normal life, and Emma about the emotions at the end of HP, being a fashion icon, and hoping that she will work again with the other cast members. SPOILERS – includes clips of the film.

First, a quick mention of MTV’s new movieblog, NextMovie, where they are doing “15 Days of Potter” with new features every day. They are currently running a poll on who fans think will be the most successful after HP. They are also doing something they call My CeleBFF, where they ask fans to send in photos of themselves with members of the HP cast and they’ll feature it on their site. Premiere magazine from France has a Harry Potter special in their next issue. They have a few preview pages on their website, including this one of Emma, with another photo by Mariano Vivanco. That’s a rather different look. The issue comes out tomorrow. If anyone can send us some scans we’d appreciate it.

Daniel is up for “Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy”, Tom Felton for “Choice Movie: Villain” and Deathly Hallows Part 1 for “Choice Movie: Sci-Fi/Fantasy”. In this behind-the-scenes video from Harper’s Bazaar, Emma tells us “the idea for the shoot was to have two really contrasting looks”. For the darker side, she says the photographer had to keep reminding her to ‘Be a bitch, look hard’. She found the “innocent, pretty look” much easier, but added “It was really fun, I was able to play two different characters.”

The current issue of Entertainment Weekly is a ‘Special Collector’s Double Issue with 5o pages devoted to Harry Potter. Their are exclusive interviews with the cast and crew, unseen behind-the-scenes photos, and a wealth of HP information. Emma’s interview and photos that include her have been uploaded to our gallery.
