We have some new MQ outtakes from the photoshoot for Entertainment Weekly’s July 2009 issue. Some sweet shots with Rupert, a nice trio pic, and a few with Bonnie too. And some older shots have been replaced with a bit better quality. Thanks to our partner RGN for the photos.
In a new video, Emma announces a competition for fans of the Harry Potter UK facebook page for a limited edition of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 Blu-ray. Only 100 copies of the limited edition will be created. To enter the contest you only need to fill in your  details on the Blu-ray & DVD tab (only residents of UK and Ireland). Winners and a guest will be invited to a release event on April 10 where they will be presented with their individually numbered copy.
Emma has posted to her facebook page and twitter confirming that the rumors about Perks of Being a Wallflower are true. She will indeed be playing the character of Sam, opposite Logan Lerman. Filming is scheduled to begin this summer.
Summit Entertainment recently acquired the film rights. Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Production, stated, “Every so often you read a book that reminds you what life was really like at a particular age in all its wonderful and terrible details or if you’re lucky enough to read it at the right time in your life, it can change the course you’re on and make you think things are actually going to be ok. ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ is that book and we are thrilled for the opportunity to turn it into that kind of movie as well. We know we are off to the right start with Stephen directing, with Emma and Logan starring, and with our talented producer team.”
As we mentioned earlier, the Harry Potter movies will be honored at this years Orange British Academy Film Awards as the “Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema” this coming Sunday. JK Rowling, David Heyman and Rupert Grint were all confirmed to attend. Snitchseeker has said that Daniel Radcliffe’s reps say he will not be able to make it. What about Emma? Well, a few pictures from preparations at the Royal Opera House give us a hint. 🙂
Thanks to our friends at UHP for the tip.
A new image from the photoshoot by Martin Schoeller for Entertainment Weekly has been released. Thanks to Surya on the forums for the tip.
Also, Harry Crowder posted a larger version of the photo we saw earlier from his photoshoot with Emma. Still waiting to see some new shots…
The Harry Potter film series will be honored with the award for “Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema” February 13 in this years Orange British Academy Film Awards. JK Rowling and David Heyman will be there to receive the award. Rupert Grint is also said to be attending, but no information on Emma or other cast members.
Emma said about the award, “This is a huge honour! I am so proud to have been part of the incredible team both in front and behind the camera that made these films. Thank you to Jo Rowling for writing such wonderful books, to David Heyman for shepherding us all through the past ten years and to all the loyal fans who have been with us throughout”
If you are having a feeling of deja vu, the Harry Potter films were awarded a special “Outstanding Contribution To British Cinema Award” at the 2006 Sony Ericcson Empire Awards.
The fan poll is over and the cover for the UK Deathly Hallows Blu-Ray has been decided. In another video on the UK Harry Potter facebook page, Emma reveals the winning cover.
