About the DA (2007): "It's kind of about them rebelling against Umbridge and her kind of dictatorship, really. But mainly it's because they're scared, they're really really scared. And they know that if they're not learning spells, if they're not being allowed to use their wands by Umbridge then they're unable to defend themselves. And while the Ministry's in denial that Voldemort has returned, they are not. They believe Harry, and they know that there's something dark and horrible and scary out there. And they want to be able to defend themselves."

More Photos from Crowder Shoot

Two more photos from Emma’s photoshoot with Harry Crowder in 2010 have come out recently.

Scans

Vogue India had a short article with quotes from Emma, talking about macaroons to owning a Kindle. Sorry for the B&W, but the pictures aren’t new.

Emma’s Character in The Bling Ring

IndieWire has posted an article discussing characters in The Bling Ring and which person they suspect Emma is playing.

…Also worth noting is that while Watson has widely been reported to be the lead, that’s not quite accurate. The entry-point character for the audience is Marc (Broussard), a fashion-obsessed (and seemingly gay, although it’s never stated outright) 16-year-old kid who starts at a new high school (based on Burglar Bunch member Nick Prugo), and quickly falls in with a Korean-American girl named Rebecca. It’s Rebecca (a character based on the real life figure Rachel Lee, and will presumably be played by newcomer Katie Chang) who’s the ringleader of the group, and arguably the female lead, while we suspect that Watson’s playing Nicki, a pretty teen with an ex-Playboy model mother (to be played by Mann) who schools her two daughters on the importance of finding fame.

“Wanna be thug” Chloe (possibly Farmiga’s part) and Nicki’s boyfriend, the Mexican bouncer Rob (presumably Miranda’s role), fall in with the gang, and soon they’re scouring gossip sites for the whereabouts of their favorite celebs, breaking and entering when they’re away and taking clothes, cash, naked photos and even a gun (from Brian Austin Green, of all people), using their spoils to finance a hard-partying, coke-snorting lifestyle, with little regard for the possibility of getting caught.

Ultimately, Coppola, even more so than most filmmakers, uses her script as a skeleton, and much of what makes her films work (or otherwise) comes in the execution. With a cast so green, the movie will really hang on how well they can pull it off, but if nothing else, having Hermione Granger do a scantily-clad dance with a gun will get the attention of the mainstream media (the film is another smart choice for Watson, who looks like she could be a real force post-Potter).

  3. nibblespeaches says:

Sweet! This movie sounded kind of lame, but I’m starting to think it might be interesting. We’ll see. And even if she’s not the lead, she’s still the STAR!

  4. sepid says:

she is very Sweetttttttttttttttt!!!!!I love you with all my heart!!?????your look sounds great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Anonymous says:

scantily clad dance with a gun….LOL!

    • Bradley says:

I am NOT saying I think she should seek out nudity in films. I respect her for her talent and the way she lives her life. But I AM saying that a bit of an “adult-ish” scene might broaden her opportunities a bit by getting producers to consider her for roles beyond that of a young woman going to school somewhere. So good for her! And yes, I also happen to think she is smolderingly sensuous, so I am not going to complain about seeing her “scantily clad.”

For the rouge in love photoshoot, though she is beautiful, it is way too photoshoped !!!

  7. sepid says:

This is wrong, so wrong on many levels…Where’s the PLOT? The STORY? “With a cast so green, the movie will really hang on how well they can pull it off, but if nothing else, having Hermione Granger do a scantily-clad dance with a gun will get the attention of the mainstream media” This sounds like they are thinking, “Let’s get Hermione Granger into a mini skirt, she’ll look hot, and everyone will love the movie, no matter how much it sucks” I love you Emma, but I really am dissapointed. The Lancome stuff was fantastic, but she is better than this kind of thing. You know what hasn’t been done in a long time? Romeo and Juliet. She’d make a beautiful ”modern” Juliet, and she’d be able to stretch her wings as an actor and explore her skills better than jumping through windows and leaving before the cops get there.

    • Natt says:

How else is she going to avoid being typecase but to take on roles that are very different than Hermione? Also, given that the author can’t have seen the film yet how do we even know she’ll even be in a miniskirt yet? There’s no reason to judge the film before you’ve even seen it. Juliet would be an extremely safe choice and was done on film in 1996 which wasn’t really that long ago.

    • Joyce says:

Ew, I’d hate to see ANOTHER Romeo and Juliet. I think that is the most cliched role a person can take on. I think this is good for Emma. Watch the movie SamMonkFan, then make jugdements

    • Thessalie says:

Yes the storyline doesn’t seem that great, however if you had to do a summary of a lot of good movies, it’s not everytime that appealing to read. When I read the summary of Perk on wikipedia, I don’t feel like the story is the greatest story ever (it doesn’t even wake me want to read the book) so I just wait, and i’ll see. It’s a question of opinion.

Don’t forget the director is Sophia Copola, she has shown many times how talented she is and what good movies she makes. Trust her, and wait to see before judging.

      Hey, what’s wrong with experimenting?

And btw scantily clad american style might still be something like normal girls summer wear in europe 😉

    • berlin says:

In my eyes Emma is doing exactly the right thing: She’s experimenting on different types of roles. I can see nothing bad in it.

  9. wonder girl says:

  11. shane says:

Emma truly has beautiful eyes and skin. I love her pictures from Harry Crowder.. 🙂

  12. Jason says:

I think it might do Emma’s general image a lot of good to do something a little racy or “tough.” She doesn’t want to get trapped in something like a “goody two-shoes” persona. After all, playing Hit Girl–even with her filthy language, sure didn’t do Chloe Moretz any harm–it propelled her right straight into two huge movies, Hugo and Dark Shadows.

Emma looks beautiful as ever in the Crowder pics. The second on is one of my favorite pictures of her. Her smile is the most beautiful smile I have ever seen.

I believe I’ve seen some of that interview elsewhere though. Still a good read.

And Emma will definitely be a force in the acting world. Can’t wait to see her in this film.

  17. berlin says:

    I love this quotation: 🙂

About sharing personality traits with Hermione (2011): “I guess earnestness — eager to please and do the right thing. I’m terrified of getting into trouble. I’m very heady in the same way she is, kind of constantly thinking three or four moves ahead. I try and intellectualize a lot, which she does well, obviously. She’s very determined. I am as well. I like to think that I’m very loyal in the same way she is, a bit of a feminist in the same way as she is and I will speak my mind in the same way that she does. It’s hard to say, really. I feel so much of me went into her and so much of her went into me that I can’t really differentiate between the two too much anymore [laughs].”
