About winning at the 2007 National Movie Awards (2009):"It was very nice. I didn't expect to win it. It wasn't only about Order of the Phoenix, it was for all the movies; I was flattered to with the fact that the public voted for me to get that award. It was one of my proudest moments."

Emma in Glamour US

Emma Watson is the cover for Glamour’s US edition along with the UK edition we posted previews of earlier. For this one we have scans of the whole article (credit fashionscansremastered.net).  Emma talks about Perks, Bling Ring, her desire to do a comedy, returning to school, and trying to have a personal life. And of course, some great photos by Alexei Hay.

I thoguht the article was good, glad to hear that Brown was accomodating for her with independant studies and a few other topics as well. I liked both styles, the UK and US photoshoots. The UK one was more classical and traditional while the US one was more edgy and in your face. Both styles worked well in my opinion.

The interview was good and to the point. I could not see Emma sitting on her hands instead of doing at least something to further her education away from Brown. Also, in various articles, I get the sense that Emma appears more realistic and less idealistic when it comes to her line of work. She seems to have a slightly different view of what she believes for her personal life versus her work life. She is knows she may have to do some things that may not always be in line with her personal preferences. She appears to be doing the right things to advance her career.

omfg she looks so damn hot in the last picture

  3. shane says:

    She really looks GLAMOURous..

  4. Jaana says:

Hmmm, not sure about the picture on the cover… Emma doesn’t look like herself in that one, I can’t really point out why, but there you go. The rest of the pictures are great!

I’d like to know if the staff here on e-w.net are going to change the layout anytime soon? Not saying there’s anything particularly wrong with this one, I’d just like a bit of change. 😛

    • Thessalie says:

I agree with you for the pics !
My personnal favorite is the one with the blue dree.

Nice idea for the Layout ! We’ve had a lot of new beautiful pictures, the current layout is beautiful but a bit of a change sometimes feels good too. ^^

  5. Thessalie says:

The pictures are great and I really love this interview !
I wanted to know what she does with her hair and I’m glad that it felt great to her to have them short.

Also, I like the friendly tone of the interview – that’s always the case in those magazine, I must say, we’re far from the bad article of the T mag.
The article here shows how much she tries to have a good control over her life, and I believe with everything she goes through I find her very mature about it.

Moreover, the old ANONYMOUS saying she was a waste of money cause she drop out of school can now be sure he was WRONG !!!!! Hahaha
I knew she was taking her education seriously, and I never doubted she was going to finish it. I’m glad for her that she’ll possibly graduate simultaneously as her friends, because sometimes it feels sad to be left behind for those occasions.

    Go Emma !!! 😀

  6. summer says:

It’s been almost two years ….why is she still talking about her hair?

    • Jonny Carinthia says:

Because she always talks about the same things…. Compare her interviews over the last years…. it’s always the same. Her hair, no bullying at Brown, she has her own life now, no comments to private life, ecc.ecc. She runs still in a sort of “Harry Potter PR-mode”. In fact, she barely says something new in her interviews and I can understand, why some journalists getting bored and writing sarcastic commentars
      …..

      • summer says:

Lol,do u read minds? I was thinking the exact thing. I was expecting to get a lot of Fbombs for this tho…ya know cause I didn’t say she’s awsome and stuff.

I really adore her and I think she is a great young lady, but her pr-work is juniorleague and not champions-league

When can I buy this issue? It wasn’t at Barnes and Nobel yesterday, and I know it says October, but..?

    • dook says:

If it’s like my Barnes and Noble, it will probably be October 🙂

Seriously though, looking at a few past issues, they appear to come out on the 1st or 2nd Tuesday of the month. If the 1st Tuesday is too close to the 1st of the month, then it’s the second Tuesday. So, I’m thinking it might be the 11th, but I don’t know.

  8. Arielle says:

I can’t believe her parents never told her she’s pretty. I mean, it doesn’t matter that she’s pretty, but it matters that she knows it, and some reassurance from the people who love her would’ve made a difference I’m sure. Still, at least she values herself for who she is and the choices she’s made in her life. I have such high respect for her and have since the potter series began. I grew up with this actress as a role model, and though I should never expect her to make the right choices, as it’s none of my business, I’m glad she has. I still look up to her (even though I’m only a year younger. We’ll be graduating at the same time! YAY!)

    • sparkvark111 says:

If you look at many other stars growing up, a lot did not stand out appearance-wise in their youth. You may have not thought petty or glamorous at the time either.

  9. Joyce says:

I kind of agree with Johnny here, I mean, if you’ve seen one Emma interview, you’ve pretty much seen them all. Which is not to say I don’t enjoy reading them; but since she’s been doing this since she was a child, she’s pretty much exhausted any new subject matter about herself she might want to give away.

  10. Beales says:

This was a good interview. To the people complaining about her talking about her hair- she was asked about it, so she talked about it lol. The same with university.
It is a little frustrating because it seems to me there’s lots going on her life which I would like to know more about at the minute- like what was Iceland like? What’s happening with the music she recorded? How was working with Logan and Ezra? etc etc. I think she’s probably got some interesting things to say, but they always ask her the same questions.

    • Jonny Carinthia says:

I think, if she really wanted to talk about “new” things, she would do it. Every journalist would be happy to write about “new” stuff; it is also duty of her pr-people, to brief the journalists about interesting topics. Every good journalist prepears himself before a interview, so I think, she is only bad adviced or simply too shy to pic up new topics (remember her mothers advice, to talk only about things, `comfortable` for her).

      • sparkvark111 says:

From her interviews, she seems to qualify her statements a lot and not always definitive with her remarks. I am not sure if it is just due to being uncomfortable, privacy, unsure, shyness, or just trying to fine the best way to say something. It maybe all the above. At times, I think, she should just not say anything if she does not feel comfortable, unable, or unwilling to clarify. I do not think it does her any favors.

It appears that Emma is going to be on ‘Live with Kelly’ on Thursday, September 13, 2012. 😀

I also noticed ‘Imagine Dragons’ from the ‘.Perks…’ movie trailer on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ on September 4, 2012. It is a day before Emma does Letterman. Movie tie-in maybe?

  12. Kristen says:

I love the blue dress sneakers pic 🙂
My fav though if people have not seen it yet is Glamour UK cover…
Awesome interview as always…Emma answers what she is asked…our media who either does or doesnt do a good job prepping. Personally, I enjoyed the interview.

  13. Nicole says:

i enjoyed the article. I’m glad that Emma is doing one last semester at Brown. Fantastic photographs too 🙂

  14. Jason says:

Why does she want take the “edgy” approach Hell, we’ve got genuine trash in Los Angeles—Miley Cyrus, Kristen Stewart—we don’t need more ‘edgy” we need less!

  15. shizuka says:

the only thing that i find boring is when people start questioning about her education choices. why did u quit this, why didn’t u do this instead, etc. it’s just so silly.

when i reread all her interviews up until now, i feel like refreshing and having read something new. even though the subject asked to her was quite repetitive, she could always give a great remarks.

  16. Beautiful! So grown up!! 🙂 Shes made it so far!

  17. sparkvark111 says:

They moved the Pittsburgh opening a week to September 28, 2012. 🙂

  18. KS987 says:

Emma’s certainly the most beautiful smart, nerdy woman I’ve ever seen, inside and out. :). I am probably one of the few guys who thought she looked beautiful with both long and short hair, but hey it’s their loss. I am glad to hear that Brown has been helpful to her in managing her education with her hectic schedule and that it seems like she’ll be able to graduate next year(I wonder if she’s been taking online courses as well).

So she’s had “6,000 boyfriends” and I wasn’t one of them? :'(. Though the press doesn’t seem to do that as much anymore like they did in the past since they mainly just link her to one person at a time. I wish they would stay out of her personal life altogether though.

I disagree with the second thing she says she can’t do. She should be able to yell Latin at people whenever she wants. 😛

    • sparkvark111 says:

Emma definitely leans toward nerdy, tomboy that happens to like the art and fashion as a side interest.

Also, she stated that she did some independent study; so, I assume she did some type of online/distance learning. I had to do this as well because of work and travel; but, it not always the easiest way to do your coursework.
