About crying on screen in GOF (2005): "It was the first time that I've had to properly cry on screen. Actually, you know what, it's funny, I find it easier to cry but to laugh realistically... When they just say "laugh on cue", it's really hard not to make it sound kind of fake (...) But no, I did have to try to think about something that was really upsetting."

Emma Watson on the Late Show

Emma Watson was a guest today on The Late Show with David Letterman.

The show has not aired yet, but we have a preview picture of Emma with David (the show tapes in the afternoon). We’ll have more photos and video as they become available.

Some HQ photos of Emma arriving at the Ed Sullivan Theatre. Thanks to MĪ±ĻĪÆĪ±, source tlfan.to

A preview of the interview, Emma asks Dave if he’s ever seen her in a movie. The interview airs tonight, 11:35pm ET and PT / 10:35 CT and MT I believe.

UPDATE: The full interview now. Emma talks about filming Noah in Iceland, school, and Perks. An extended clip of a scene from Perks we’ve seen before is included. Emma’s accent is quite good!

hey there are more if can’t get them, i’d like to get them for you!

    • dook says:

Maria, I did see more, but the ones I saw looked very similar to these, just a little bit different pose. I’ll add them all to the gallery at some point, but I think these 4 are a good selection of what was there. If there are others that look different let me know. Thanks for the tip.

  2. Chris says:

Very simple but classy look. You don’t always have to show some skin to make a visual impact. And I must say, I love the visual jab Emma takes at the notion of not wearing white after Labor Day lol

  3. Kristen says:

Emma looks classy and beautiful-she is growing into a beautiful young woman, no more little girl! I will be watching tonite at 11:30! šŸ™‚

  5. mima says:

Guh could she get any more classy!?! Love this girl. Though how she is walking in those shoes is honestly beyond me, they look uncomfortable as heck

  6. Luis says:

I must say, I love watching Emma on the Late Show with David Letterman even when sometimes he’s quite annoying in what he says. I don’t like when he makes her feel umconfortable, but well, I guess Emma is now ready to face that. In fact, she looks like a businesswoman there! šŸ˜€

  7. anitha says:

    honesty is the best policy

  12. em says:

this interview is refreshing compared to other latterman talks with her..it seems he really likes emma now more than before

    • Celia says:

He’s always really liked her. You can tell. I think she’s the one whose gotten more comfortable. He’s always clearly adored her.

  13. sepid says:

    simple and classy.and lovely

  14. Iris says:

Seems like shoulder pads are coming back. They were popular in the 1980s.

  15. Chris says:

I thought the inverview was good, the elves and Icelandic food comments made me laugh. And it was nice to hear her talk quite a bit about Noah. The accent is what a lot of people are going to comment on (and rightly so) and from what I have heard I think all the hard work she put into it paid off. It’s not perfect and there’s room for improvement but for her attempt she definately exceeded expectations.

  16. Sandra says:

She definitely looked more comfortable than last time on the show.
I just wanted to let you know that I found a transcript of the whole Glamour UK interview:

  17. Sacred_Path says:

In the beginning she seems unsure of wether to give him a smooch on the cheek, so cute šŸ™‚ Now off to watch Harry Potter: Mystery of the Lost & Found

  18. Kaytie says:

Emma looks good until you get to the shoes, they are hideous…

    • Celia says:

I think the shoes are the best part. If I have to find fault with something, I’d probably choose her hair. I dont like how it’s flatironed and slicked down at the top.

  19. Kate says:

hey guys, I have a question. Emma mentions that she has made three films this summer: the edn of the world, noah and…? anyone heard what the third film is?

    • sparkvark111 says:

I think she meant ‘The Bling Ring,’ that she did in this spring, as the third film when David asked her what she did this summer.

  20. Hiltje says:

Can anyone make out what Emma’s Style commandments are that she makes in the Glamour Magazine?

  21. Hiltje says:

Also, just saw this picture http://www.emmawatson.com/en/Slideshow/Fashion-Editorial/Editorial/Vanity-Fair-2012/

which is absolutely gorgeous and I can’t remember seeing it up here, so I thought I’d mention it šŸ™‚ Sorry if you guys did post it already.

  22. Thessalie says:

I really liked this interview because I thought that Emma was taking part of the fun, whereas the other times she was kind of made fun of.

I didn’t like her hair at all though x)

  23. Celia says:

Loved the interview. It was so funny. The clip from Perks was very touching. I can’t wait to see the movie. It better open nationwide…not just in NY and Los Angeles.

  24. Jaana says:

Love the shoes and the jacket! Not sure about the trousers or her hair… :/ I’ve never really liked that “slicked-back” look in general. I think it makes your hair look dirty.
As for the interview, I thought it was okay. It was nice to hear more about Noah and Emma’s experiences in Iceland! I think this was the first time Emma wasn’t quite so uncomfortable. šŸ™‚

  25. Nat says:

I’m definitely interested to see Perks but as an American her accent does sound pretty off to me. One of her best interviews in a while though.

  26. sara says:

    deleted – stop trolling

  27. Kristen says:

I thought her accent was VERY good-I was impressed with it…I am sure that is NOT easy to do at all…as for the interview-loved it…Letterman strikes me as an arse so I love when Emma seems to take jabs at him.

  28. Anonymous says:

is it me or is she starting to lose her british accent?

    • sparkvark111 says:

No, she just seems to alters her speech pattern depending on the situation. I am sure she has picked up some Americanisms over time as well, but she falls right back into her normal dialect when speaking in the UK.

  29. Jason says:

Her accent is fine. In the same way that Chloe Moretz’ British accent was fine in Hugo. There is so much back and forth between Britain and USA these days that we are all getting used to the other country’s accents, and it’s not the big deal it used to be. Obviously if you get into deep Kentucky hills or north of the Humber river in Britain, you’re going to get very, very tough accents to do right, but normal English, normal British, it’s nothing any more.

  30. Jonny Carinthia says:

A very “grown up” interview…. The fun and the girliness are gone….. and Letterman was bad, compared to the funny things the did years ago….

  31. Nicole says:

I really like the jacket and the shoes, i also love the way her hair is styled. As for the interview, i really enjoyed it. Very impressed with her American Accent!! I also liked the convesation about Perks. Very moving scene as well!

  32. sam says:

    very articulate and respectful…love her

  33. Jordan says:

Do you feel better about yourself now, does that make you feel important?

  34. KS987 says:

Every time I see Emma she becomes more beautiful than before. šŸ™‚ I’m glad that she enjoyed filming in Iceland, despite their “exotic” food choices. šŸ˜› . Once again I think Emma did an amazing job with the American accent, which couldn’t have been easy to do, especially with this being her first role using one. I can’t wait to see more of it. šŸ™‚

  35. tabitoo says:

“When You Were Married to Harry Potter” Lol Dave’s so funny. Love d the interview. Emma’s next role as a ” Power Lawyer” that look suits her very well. That bit about the hippie hotel fun was very funny too. Dave can be funny when he wants I guess that’s why he’s hosted the show for decades. Yeah and you can tell that he and Emma get along well.

  36. Chanandler Bong says:

    Could she be more beautiful?

  37. berlin says:

I really love the Videos mit Letterman and Emma šŸ™‚
