I have seen that they have confirmed the UK premiere on September 26, 2012. No details though.
I have read that it’s not really a premiere, at least not in the sense of a red carpet and all that.
There is supposed to be a UK Gala Screening of the movie in London. I am not sure what it consist of. I seen the mention of Emma and maybe Logan at ‘a hotel,’ nothing specific. It could be like the New York screening. There are lot of UK screenings scheduled next week at Odeon Cinemas.
I am not sure what everywhere means, but I can see it opening at least a 1000 screens. ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’ peaked at 1200+ screens. Lets hope it performs well.
I just saw the movie today and it was very well put together. Everyone’s performances where top notch and very genuine. Charlie’s emotion builds to a crescendo until he is forced into hospital after he is unable to handle his demons from his past. Some of the situations in the book where presented very subtlety for the film or unsaid. If Stephen Chbosky left every situation from the book, it would have been too much. Stephen Chbosky just let the dialog and the natural camaraderie developed during their stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel drive this film; this is very evident. Also, Emma accent was good, better than I expected. I will most likely see it again. 😉
It was originally a rated R in the US, but was overturned later. For all the drugs, fights, expletives, males kissing, and mature issues, it really does not feel like a rated R film at all. 😐
So far Perks has done extremely well in the box office despite only being shown in a couple of theaters, and continues to get praise and positive reviews. :). They are also opening in a couple of more locations as a result of popular demand.
Emma looks stunningly beautiful as Sam in the pictures as well. 🙂
I have vowed to myself no peaking at clips-only have seen like 3/4 clips, old ones, nothing new-keeping myself honest this go round unlike DH movies LOL…my friends and I are seeing it THIS Friday….yes considering limits on theater showings, Perks is doing QUITE WELL 😉 its close to quarter of a million dollars (only 4 theaters) pretty freakin awesome for an indie flick!!!!! Go Emma!!!
I am looking forward to seeing it!!! Hurry up October 3rd!!
