Emma Watson will receive the “Calvin Klein Collection Emerging Star Spotlight Award” at this years Annual Women in Hollywood Celebration. In its 19th year, the event is sponsored by Elle magazine, Calvin Klein Collection and L’Oréal Paris among others. Cate Blanchett, Susan Sarandon, and Octavia Spencer, Elle Fanning, Sarah Jessica Parker, Uma Thurman, Wiig, and Shirley MacLaine will also be honored. The ceremony will be held at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills Hotel on Monday, Oct. 15.
Elle magazine will feature Emma and the other stars in their annual Women in Hollywood issue, due out Oct 16. A preview on their website shows a new photo of Emma, and a quote of Emma talking about Harry Potter and fame. “I just knew, from the moment I read “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” that I was meant to play that role…I put one of the Potter films on the other night. And it was amazing to me that I had done all of that. I have to remind myself every now and then.”
Glad to hear that Emma is getting this recognition and honor. Congrats to her and all the hard work that she’s put into her profession!

I am a fan, so I am happy for her but the part of this strikes me as unintentionally comical is the title (with my own emphasis added) of the award: “Calvin Klein Collection EMERGING STAR Spotlight Award.” Eh? As if one of the world’s most famous actresses is just now “EMERGING” into the spotlight??? Well anyway, I wish her well and am glad she got it.
I’d argue that she is still emerging, though. Most people still recognize Emma as a Harry Potter star (when I talk about her in “real life,” I always have to refer to her as Hermione before people recognize the name), and she is just now coming into her own as an actress outside of that role.

Happy to hear that Emma’s won another award. 🙂 That’s a very beautiful picture of her. I though she was holding a watch at first but she seems to be holding a camera. She’s been having a busy few weeks hasn’t she? And all this with filming Noah in between. I hope she’s getting plenty of rest in between all of this work.

Emma has many of these type of awards. It would be nice to see Emma win an acting award sometime in the future. 🙂
