About HP being a great acting school (2007): "I got thrown in the deep end on the first one, but the Harry Potter films have been a pretty amazing acting school. When I got the part, the only thing I had apparently was some natural acting ability. I didn't know anything about making a film, and there was so much technically I had to learn and understand. I spent the first two films just constantly being in awe, not really knowing if I was doing it right, if I was any good or why I was there."

Emma Covers Teen Vogue

emma-watson-14

Emma Watson has the August cover feature of Teen Vogue. Emma first covered Teen Vogue in 2005, at that time the youngest person to appear on the cover. She shared the cover with Daniel Radcliffe in 2007, and soloed again in 2009. Here are some behind the scenes images and a video interview from the shoot, along with an excerpt from the article. Thanks Nidia for the tip.

One thing about Emma Watson: She has never been arrested. Nor, so far as anyone knows, has she ever eloped, been kicked off a movie set, or unleashed an angry rant on Twitter. Under normal circumstances, none of this would be particularly noteworthy. But Emma, 23, doesn’t live under normal circumstances, and she hasn’t for a very long time. Instead, the Paris-born, Oxford-raised actress is a self-made young Hollywood success, and more to the point, she is exceedingly famous thanks to a decision she made when she was only nine (and, of course, the dozen-odd years of hard work that followed).

“I think, in a way, I was very protected during Harry Potter, because I was working all the time,” Emma muses, taking a sip of tea. Dressed in a pair of dusky gray jeans, two layered cotton T-shirts, and a chic black blazer, she’s sitting in the corner of a posh but deserted hotel restaurant on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, open just so we can conduct the interview for her fourth Teen Vogue cover. “I would get in the car, go to the studio, and go home,” she says. Whenever possible, she continued to attend school and hang out with her childhood friends.

As a result, Emma explains, it took an improbably long time for her to understand how unusual her existence had become. It wasn’t until she enrolled at Brown University, in 2009, that she began to grasp the enormity of her renown. “It sounds stupid,” she admits, “or completely unbelievable, but that was when I really realized that I was famous. There are still days when I deal with it horribly and there are days when I deal with it really well.” She felt as though everything had been “turned upside down.”

It throws her latest role into sharp relief: Emma plays Nicki, a fame-hungry would-be reality star, in this summer’s ripped-from-the-headlines crime caper The Bling Ring. Based on the true story of a group of image-obsessed teenage burglars who targeted the homes of Tinseltown’s best dressed, the film, written and directed by Sofia Coppola, offered Emma the opportunity to take on a completely different kind of character: a mildly villainous party girl who’d do almost anything for a taste of the kind of attention Emma’s been dealing with for more than a decade. It also gave her the chance to utter the sure-to-be-timeless line, “Come on, let’s go to Paris’s. I want to rob.”

I love the 80s vibe here in this photoshoot, but man does it feel like Emma is answering the same questions magazine after magazine. It’s not her fault, she just answering the questions, but how many times can these interviewers ask Emma to explain why she went to college or when she felt famous.

    • sherry905 says:

Yeah, this happens a lot of times unfortunately. I really think her best interview was with Rookie magazine in a long time. And to think, that was conducted by a teenager, and in these others she is interviewed by supposedly professional people…

    • ondo says:

and here i think the Harry Potter question would finally over after Emma indicated that she’s getting tired of the quotation. πŸ˜€

  2. susang bhatt says:

nice photoshoot, emma looks amazingly well in any out fit.

  3. Rolo says:

I luv who ever made this site!!! I was a little mad cause u stopped putting posts up but then……………… BOOM HOLY MOLY SOOOOO LUVING THE NEW STYLE EMMA!!!!!!! you look so mature and beautiful! Whens ur next movie after Noah?

  4. Kristen says:

Chris L I agree!!! It totally gave me the 80’s sense too…
As for the questions, that’s why the Rookie interviewer was so good-she asked better questions and ones where Emma had not been asked in other interviews.

  5. sparkvark111 says:

Hmm…I do not see 80s here, more like 90s. Also, I am not really liking the pseudo-mullet hair style. I understand what doing, but it does not work for for me. πŸ˜•

  6. Hermione_Grangerfan says:

Holy snickey’s! She sure is beautiful! I love all of the pictures especially the sixth one.

  7. Anonymous says:

Love all the Photos πŸ™‚ But unfortunatly didnt like her performance in the Bling Ring, to me her accent seemed forced and since im american i can judge. SO NOBODY GET DEFENSIVE! Anyways Loved the Photos and cant want to get it on nexy tuesday:)

VOTE FOR DEMI,MILEY, JONAS BROTHERS, and 1D for the teen choice awards in on the 11th of August:)

    • Emily Wayson says:

Not here to bash, just here to explain that the accent is MEANT to sound forced, seeing as that’s what Alexis Neires or whatever her name is sounds like. So in reality: she did the accent perfectly.

    • anon says:

Glad to hear that opinion, it means you’re not a lemming, and that’s a good thing!

    • sparkvark111 says:

No, her valley accent is actually very good. πŸ™‚

  8. Sheila says:

Is it just me or does she sound a bit ill in the video??

  9. Bradley says:

Emma makes anything look good, and that is testament to her acting, but I do NOT wax nastalgic for 80s hair-styles. Too androgynous. Vive la difference.

  10. Thessalie says:

I love how she smiles at 0:08 secs, but I don’t really like the pictures here. Don’t really know why, but anyway.

I’m glad to read the beginning of an interview without Harry Potter comming in !
It feels a little bit to me that the interviews she did about her and her studies were so good that it’s a trend for them to ask her about that now. Well anyway, I believe we still have a lot to hear from her.

  11. Anonymous says:

Her accent was okay, but i didnt like the movie:( i thought it was gonna be good, but im sorry, Emma ruined it. I wish they chose someone like Vanessa Hudgens, cuz she has a really good valley voice. Sorry:( not hating, just dissapointed.

    • sparkvark111 says:

Her accent was very good, if not spot on and she and Taissa were the highlights of the movie. πŸ™‚

  12. Nicole says:

Not sure about the photos and the hairstyle here and i rarely say that, in all the others she looks amazing. I enjoyed the video a lot though and the excerpt from the interview.

  13. sukh dev says:

kmal di kudi ya … Emma to v koi soni hovegi…

  14. Kristen says:

To the one who said Emma ruined Bling Ring, uh no…she was perfect as Nicki-so much so she couldnt help hate the character and at RARE RARE times felt sorry for her-VERY RARE times. Nicki deserved what she got.
The thing that most impressed me with Emmas performance is how this very sweet and kind British girl plays the celebrity obsessed, drug using, smoking, drinking, partying, narcissistic and vain girl from Cali. She nailed her performance and her accent was spot on-watch the Hills or listen to Alexis Niers-that’s the accent!! LOL
    Noah pics!!! Looks awesome!

    • SamiSoong says:

And yet,Demi was the one who was hospitalized for cutting, and wanting to kill herself? Don’t ever recall Emma pulling a stunt like that…

  15. Anonymous says:

Demi lovato is a true role model unlike Emma, demi is creating scholarships for people with mental issue and i dont see Emma doing anything to help others. All she does is complainabout her anominmity, which is annoying. Emma has millions of dollars and doesnt create charities or donate money for the lesa fortunate. Emma is just a hypocrite with a british accent.

What a cold Heart Emma is right?

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY_amJ0YZrM

    • Thessalie says:

Hum I believe you just didn’t follow emma at all. Several times she asked to donate to charities instead of giving her a present (christmas for example), on her official website she said she was supporting Unicef if I remember well. She is supporting developpement for kids and woman in poor countries. She did “fare trade” for this reason.

Moreover, in her way of living she is responsible (car with few CO2 emissions), she doesn’t make people spend enormous amout of money during her movies promotion, etc…

Understand me well : I love Demi, she’s a great artist. But emma is not to be blamed because she has heart.

    • Bradley says:

Noting at all against Demi but your criticism that Emma does nothing to help the less fortunate simply doesn’t square with the facts. She’s been donating time and money to charities and philanthropies since before she was done with the Potter fims. The list is long.

  16. SamiSoong says:

The fact that she’s always kept herself out of trouble, and has always been professional has always made me a firm believer that she really is a good role model. Someday, when I have kids, and I have a little girl, and she asks me if I had anyone who I looked up to, I’ll tell her all about Emma, and how she never once let me down.

    • SamiSoong says:

As a matter of fact, I DO suffer from a mental disorder. I am also deaf. AND I never got any special treatment for any of that. I fealt with it, on my own, while going to a regular school, WITH NO HELP, while also taking care of my mom, who suffers from lupus and epilepsy. And I didn’t say Emma is perfect. Just that she handles her fame a lot better than most celebrities, and has never gotten her face splattered across a magazine with the headline “Emma back in rehab” or “Emma attempts suicide.” That is why I look up to Emma, not Demi. So, don’t YOU dare judge someone before you know them.!

      • SamiSoong says:

And another thing, you can’t come to a website about an actress, or actor, and post a comment about them saying that another actor or actress is better than them. You’re asking for trouble.

  17. Anonymous says:

Wish people would stop fighting:( and to SamiSoong, how dare u say that Demi pulled a “Stunt” she was sick and even though Emma has never had to deal with anything like that doesn’t mean she’s perfect. Just like Demi isn’t perfect and she used her sickness to help millions around the world. EMMA WATSON IS NOT PERFECT. NO ONE IS PERFECT. But for u to say Demi did it for more fame is STUPID. Unless u face a mental disorder, then u do not need to say a thing against someone who is in better health now.

  18. Ian says:

Jeez, even on a supposed (and fairly exclusive-to-one-subject) fansite you get losers like the above. Time to get a life, idiot.

  19. Hermione_Grangerfan says:

I agree about not bashing a celebrity on a fan site of theirs, I like both Demi and Emma. What Demi did was not a stunt. She got help before it escalated out of control like it has for other actresses and seems to be doing a lot better.
