About the inspiration behind her People Tree collection (2010): "I went through my wardrobe and thought that if I filtered out my clothes and took it down to the absolute basics, what would I want in my wardrobe? It was cotton vests, really easy t-shirt dresses, nice scarves and maybe an easy summer linen shirt. And with the boys it's just the basics such as a comfortable hoody. I've done a couple of art designs for t-shirts too including, ‘I'm not toxic' for the boys and for the girls I've done, ‘please don't panic I'm organic'. I was aware that I didn't want to preach, you don't want to be too serious or too heavy. I also came up with a daisy chain print which I'm proud of, it's fun and messy. I just wanted to make something wearable and cool and easy."

Emma to Star in ‘Colonia’

Colonia

Rumors about Emma Watson’s latest project have been swirling around but now it’s official. Emma will star along with Daniel Brühl in Colonia, a political thriller by director Florian Gallenberger.

Inspired by true events, Colonia “tells the story of Lena and Daniel, a young couple who become entangled in the Chilean military coup of 1973. Daniel is abducted by Pinochet’s secret police and Lena tracks him to a sealed off area in the south of the country, called Colonia Dignidad. The Colonia presents itself as a charitable mission run by lay preacher Paul Schäfer but, in fact, is a place nobody ever escaped from. Lena decides to join the cult in order to find Daniel.”

Principal photography has already begun and will continue through the end of the year in Luxembourg, Munich, Berlin and South America. No release date has been announced.

Well that came out of left field, but hallelujah anyway! 😉

  2. Ondowuzz says:

Bravo for Emma. Didn’t see that coming, at all. Still waiting for Queen of The Tearling, really 🙂

    Anyway..

Seriously, how can a person get so much hate just because she fights for other people’s rights?
Be it feminism or whatever, it’s still for the sake of others.
And she’s getting all the hate in the world.

What is so wrong with everyone, really?

Great! Daniel is such a great and charming actor… They will be amazing together in the movie!

  4. Cam-Sam says:

I hope she comes back to Chile, specially if they are filming so close to home!! The movie is dealing with a very delicate subject though,it’s been over 20 years since the military coup finished, but it’s not something people treat lightly here. I’m confident that if Emma Watson is in the project, it’ll be a very respectful movie, but still, tricky tricky topic I tell you.

  5. Kristen says:

This was to be expected after Emma’s makeup artist unintentionally revealed Emma’s involvement before it was announced, but of course it’s always great to have official confirmation. :). I’m glad to see that some of Emma’s projects are officially happening instead of being either still questionable or officialky cancelled.
