About how she heard about People Tree (2010): "I've been interested in Fair Trade for about three or four years now and one day I met a friend who was wearing a nice t-shirt and I asked him where it was from and he told me People Tree. I had never heard of People Tree before and he started telling me about the brand and he was also a friend of Safia's and so he introduced me. I was just really interested in it. I thought it was a really cool idea and when I met Safia we really clicked. And a couple of weeks later she asked me whether I would be interested in putting together a range for the people my age as a lot of the People Tree clothes were for 20 years and up. And I thought this was a really great idea as I don't think there is a huge amount out that which is Fair Trade or organic. I thought it was a pretty cool idea and I got to work straight away and we put together this range."

Emma Watson launched the HeForShe IMPACT 10X10X10 Initiative on Friday speaking at the Davos World Economic Forum.

“The groundswell of response we have received in support for HeForShe tells us we are tapping into what the world wants: to be a part of change. Now we have to channel that energy into purposeful action. The pilot initiative provides that framework. Next we need all country leadership, as well as that of hundreds of universities and corporations to follow HeForShe’s IMPACT 10x10x10 so as to bring an end to the persisting inequalities faced by women and girls globally,” said Emma Watson, UN Women Global Goodwill Ambassador.

where’s the speech in which she’s standing on a platform?!

  2. Hon-chan says:

It’s verys short and she says not quite much, just hello to everybody and some stuff like that.

I’m searching for the whole event to watch, like back in September.

  3. KS987 says:

In the fourth picture you can see Emma speaking at the podium, yet it seems like footage of that speech hasn’t been posted anywhere, at least that I am aware of.

Emma also did a twitter Q and A on HeForShe.

Anyway I’m glad to see that it’s making an impact and is getting so much support.

Keep fighting the good fight Emma. :).
