About Gary Oldman (2004): "I have to say, at first, I genuinely didn't know who he was. And it is terrible, I know, it's horrendous and people would be "ooooh, that's terrible!". But Dan almost took my head off when I said I didn't know him. I was like "OK, I'm really sorry" and he was like "I can't believe!" (makes a very funny imitation). But working with him, even though I didn't know who he was... he is such a great actor. He truly is. He's so good. And I was so impressed. All of the Shrieking Shack stuff that we did with him, I was just so blown away, I almost forgot what I was saying, I was like "Oh yeah, that's my line" (laughs)."

Emma in My Week With Marilyn

Trademark Films and the Weinstein Co announced today that filming has started on the movie My Week with Marilyn. We told you previously that Emma was rumored to be part of the cast, and today’s press release does indeed include “Emma Watson” in the list of cast members. So this rumor appears to be true. Hopefully we’ll hear something from Emma soon.

My Life with Marilyn is a real life story about Colin Clark, assistant to Laurence Olivier, and his nine days of contact with Marilyn Monroe during the filming of  The Prince and the Showgirl. Emma is said to play Lucy, a wardrobe assistant, who had a few dates with Colin. Prinicipal photography will last seven weeks at Pinewood studios and locations in London. This should be a small role, so it would be possible for Emma to film her scenes during a short break from university. Thanks Alex for the tip.

From the press release

Friday 8th October, London.  Trademark Films and The Weinstein Company have announced that principal photography has started on My Week with Marilyn for 7 weeks at Pinewood Studios and on location in and around London.  Michelle Williams plays the iconic Marilyn Monroe alongside a fantastic British cast including Eddie Redmayne, Kenneth Branagh, Judi Dench, Dominic Cooper, Emma Watson and Julia Ormond.  The film chronicles a week in the life of Marilyn Monroe in which she escapes the shackles of her Hollywood career and embraces British life with Colin Clark.  Directed by Simon Curtis and produced by David Parfitt, the film is based on Colin Clark’s diaries and has been adapted for the screen by Adrian Hodges.

While she probably won't play a huge role, I hope it's something significant. Regardless, I'll go and see it anyway.

    YES! 😆

  6. KS987 says:

YES!!! Even though it seems to a smaller role than she usually has, it'll still be cool seeing her in a new role. I also hope the Perks of Being a Wallflower rumor is true. Something I have noticed though is that back in 2007, Emma landed not one, but two new roles (Ballet Shoes and Tale of Desperaux). Now she has been confirmed to be in this film and may have also(it hasn't been really confirmed) been cast in Perks of Being a Wallflower. Hopefully Emma will post something about it soon. 🙂
