About what she spends her money on (2009):"My brother would love it if I got a Lamborghini, but I won't and he's sad about it. I don't feel like investing right now. I just want to do what my friends do and a lot of people who I know don't have that amount of money to spend. I want to do what they do. Go to the movies, eat some place. I live a very normal life. I just got a laptop and it's the most expensive thing I ever bought. Oh, and I got a car, a Toyota Prius."

Emma Collaborating with Alberta Ferretti on Organic Clothes Line

During a press junket on Friday, Emma revealed she is working with designer Alberta Ferretti on a fair trade range of clothes. Emma said the style will be “very classic French” and that she was inspired by a “60’s Jane Birkin”. She wouldn’t disclose the name of the line, but said more information would be out soon, and that the collection will debut “just after Christmas”.

Emma said Ferretti contacted her after she saw Emma’s People Tree collection. “She wrote to me and said, ‘I saw what you did with People Tree and I think it’s a great idea and will you do something with me?'” Emma agreed quickly, and she’s open to working with others too. “I will put it out there that I will work for anyone for free if they are prepared to make their clothing fair trade organic.”

Some other highlights from the press junket interviews

  • Emma’s not quite done with Hermione yet. They will be reshooting the epilogue over Christmas. It was originally done in two days, and it just wasn’t enough time.
  • There were many days when Emma was very tired, and the on-set photographer has shots of her sleeping in various places.
  • Emma kept the time-turner from POA, a cloak and her wand as mementos.
  • Emma talked about how she got the part in My Week with Marilyn. She read the script and liked it right away, saying it was a small role, but a really interesting character.
  • She wants to finish university, but she also wants to continue as an actress, and will look for good supporting roles or theatre.

We have audio from the interview, thanks to Snitchseeker, and audio from a second session thanks to our friends at RupertGrint.net. They also both have interviews with Dan, Rupert, Tom and the Davids.

She's amazing. It's great that she's willing to work on something for nothing but the satisfaction of helping the less fortunate. 🙂

  2. sarah says:

yep I read about it a few days ago 🙂 but wait a sec, i just read that it says they'd be re-shooting the epilogue. Is this true? I thought they said the epilogue was good enough. Hmm, I wonder why they have to re-shoot it.. 😕

I think it's amazing how dedicated Emma is to fair trade. Hopefully others will follow suit. I can't wait to hear more about the line and what it's going to be called. 🙂 It was good to hear more about her role in My Week With Marilyn. Should be a very interesting role. She also talked about when she did the Three Sisters play at Brown, such as how she had to audition. I want to see the pictures of her sleeping on set. 😛

Now that they're going to reshot the epilogue…It would be very cool if J.K.Rowling make a cameo! Like Stephenie Meyer in Twilight^^

  7. Kate says:

Any chance we can see pictures of her sleeping on set?

My biggest question is: What is Emma's secret? How does she have time for all of this? Seems to have gotten time management down pat, I guess. This new fair trade organic line for Alberta Ferretti sounds great and interesting. After I saw Emma's interview from her trip to Bangladesh with People Tree, I was floored. My reaction? I decided to do something about it. I have just received a position at a fair trade organization, after doing some more research on Fair Trade myself, of course. Talk about influence!

Major spoiler alert on the second audio interview: "Interview with Emma from Rupertgrunt.net" Around 11:30 in. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this before but I don't see it flagged anywhere on the post.

  10. Window says:

Maybe she has a real time-turner… 🙂 like the heart-turner that is in her eyes 🙂

  11. Jia says:

Dook, I think you should post this: http://10questions.time.com/2010/11/12/ask-emma-watson/ Want to ask Emma something? Submit your questions for Emma! and they will be answered by her in an interview in the upcoming issue of TIME magazine.

  12. Window says:

I think this topic has been posted before the premiere…

  13. dook says:

The topic about working with Alberta Ferretti? No, it was only revealed by Emma on Friday.

  14. Window says:

@ dook No I said about Jia's topic: Submitting questions for the cast and Emma… 😉

  15. Alyssa says:

    Wow! 🙂

  16. KS987 says:

K.Lo, that's awesome. I wish you good luck. That's one thing I think Emma beats Hermione in though. She doesn't need a time turner while Hermione did. 😛
