About NYC (2009):"I probably wouldn't have gone to New York so young if it weren't for the films. I was 11, and I remember it distinctly because it was just after 9/11. I was at ground zero, looking at this gallery that had messages and drawings all over the walls. I remember one of the producers gave this great speech while we were there, saying that maybe the reason Harry Potter was so successful, particularly then, was because people really wanted to be uplifted or taken to another place."

Bling Ring Wraps, Perk Updates Coming

Looks like we won’t be seeing any more from The Bling Ring set. Emma tweeted “Wrapped on the ‘Bling Ring’!! Time to go home! Perks updates soon. : ) X”. I guess that quote a couple weeks ago from Vogue UK of “5 weeks left” was a bit made up.

But she does promise we’ll be getting news about Perks of Being a Wallflower soon. Indeed, it’s already starting. A couple weeks ago Emma put on a screening of Perks, attended by Derek Blasberg among others. He tweeted, “Just leaving a screening of ‘The Perks of Being A Wallflower,’ a sweet, comic tear jerker starring the adorable, fantastic Logan Lerman…And the wondrous @EmWatson, fab as an American teenager. Just as magical on screen without a wand. (And in one scene, not much at all!)“.

And now Blasberg has written a mini review of the movie. Blasberg says of Emma, “her performance as Sam in the film β€˜The Perks of Being a Wallflower,’ based on the best selling book by Stephen Chbosky, is going to ruffle a few feathers. One scene in particular, when her character and her slightly outcaste-ish friends put on a production of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, has her wearing only a (conservative, mind you) bra. That alone is enough to get the Harry Potter boys in a tizzy.

The film made me laugh, and yes, it made me cry. (Shut up!) I loved Lerman’s performance, and I was endeared by Miller for reasons that will become apparent when you see the film. And I just adore Emma. It was nice to see her doing something out of the realm of magic. She also does an American accent, which was weird for me to see at first. But not as weird as the aforementioned Rocky Horror scene. Which she looks beautiful in, by the way.

I find it that it’s great that we are going to hear more news about Perks of Being a Wallflower movie. πŸ™‚ And just by reading the interview, you can tell that even though Emma’s role is not big, she did a wonderful job casting it and that she had fun along the way as well. Thus, you can tell that she is turning more and more into a beautiful young lady and will become one of the biggest superstars in the future.!!

Well I know that movie poster is fake because I saw a very long time ago on Google images. I’m pretty excited to see a trailer or a clip or something. Emma will be amazing in it! I can tell everyone that right now!

    • dook says:

Fake? That would be funny, since Blasberg used it on his site. πŸ˜€

It is….the picture of Emma is from her 2010 shoot for the re-make of her website….besides, Emma shot perks with her hair short, lol. Kind of makes no sense to see these tendrils of hair…

Ah, so it is. Looks like a number of people have been fooled. I’ve seen it on reputable film sites, and then just today on Blasberg’s site. I’ve removed the picture.

Emma in a bra now that’ll sell a movie, they know what they’re doing. Maybe next time no bra

    • Carrie says:

I mean, it’s not something they just threw in there. It’s part of her character for Rocky Horror — her character plays Janet.

I read that “quote” from Emma about having five more weeks to film, so I was surprised when I read Emma’s tweet that she had already wrapped up. Either way that’s another project completed. I hope Emma had one epic experience filming Bling Ring. It’s also great to see another review for Perks. All the reviews I’ve read have praised the movie and Emma’s performance. πŸ™‚ I hope we get more news on it soon.
