MTV Spoilers? Well, that was rather disappointing.
Yesterday MTV had a short segment about their visit to the set of Half-Blood Prince on their show Spoilers. On their blog, MTV said they spoke to all three of the trio. Well, maybe they spoke to Emma but that didn’t show up in their show. They spoke with Dan, Rupert, Jessie and David Yates, but all we get are a few on the set shots of Emma. And very little in the way of “spoilers”.

Disappointing indeed. They didn't even show an interview with Emma even though they claimed they spoke with her. How could they NOT air footage of them speaking with Emma? They made it out to be bigger than it was. In the clips they showed Emma looks lovely. The movie looks good as well. I just wished they would have showed more since they claimed they had more.

Well, you've had enough off-set stuff over the last few weeks haven't you? She'll just say the same as she always does! Let the other have a chance. Emma will get all the limelight at the premieres etc… so be fair!!
erm, did I understand David good? is there going to be a scene that wasn't in the book. ohw, I do not like that, at all. 😕
I miss Chris Columbus he was the only one who was able to catch the magic in the films and let us be part of it, i dont like it that every director except of chris tried to make some sort of comedy romance out of the harry potter films which is defenetly not what it should be in my point of view… Well anyway im exsited for the new film and emma looks lovely in that video

Actually, from my point of view, there's much romantic comedy in Book 6; I guess it's how you look at it. I hope they have parts with Weasley is our King(that was my favorite in OOTP)
I saw the leaked footage on youtube early yesterday and I was disappointed to see how short it was. I was hoping that that was just a "preview" or something, so I tuned in to the show to see if it was going to be bigger, but it was the exact same thing. It was pretty much spoiler free.

Yeah, I was hoping it was just a teaser myself. It was nice that they had some comments from Rupert for once, and Jessie. But they could have made it even 10 seconds longer and had something from Emma.
Wow… Well, that was slightly disappointing! 😆 I'm just wondering, why on earth have they added a completely new scene to the film that wasn't in the book? I mean, couldn't they just stick as close to the book as possible and not mess about with entirely new scenes and stuff. There was no scene in the book with the Death Eaters attacking the Burrow, so why put it in the film? 😕 I'm slightly confused…
Jaana, I agree with you. I don't like them taking stuff from the books out of the movie and it's even worse when they put new stuff in. Although, I can see the point with putting the attack on the Burrow in. The sixth book isn't really filled with action like the preceeding ones were. I'm sure they did it for dramatic purposes only and I'm looking forwards to seeing it. I also think it was something that could have happened. Voldemort knew Harry stayed at the Weasleys' and I wouldn't put it past him to try and attack him there. Wish there was more Emma in the spoiler but glad to see a bit of Jessie.
Julia, the issue is they claimed to have interviewed Emma on their blog and advertised it for this special. Yet while we see clips of Emma on set, we do not see the interview MTV advertised on their blog. It's false advertisement. Had they said "See our interviews with Rupert, Jessie, Dan, and David Yates" then this clip would have been more accurate. But they clearly said they interviewed Emma on their blog but they didn't show it in the clip. It is just confusing as to why they wouldn't air it.

Wow. That was insightful. Lots of good spoilers. I can't believe they're adding a new scene that's not from the book. It'll make me really mad if it messes up the whole movie. Hopefully they won't make a habit of it.
I don't agree with that either. In 6 months, I'll be an author, and if my book makes it to that level, I don't what I would do if someone put a scene that wasn't there. Probably fire the whole crew. Lol. No, but all in all, that's very disturbing. I'm fearing for the final one now.

Yeah, very disappointing. And on the Oscars tonight there was supposed to be another clip….. but nothing…. why do they keep teasing us? would this be a violation of our 8th Amendment?
^ Actually, they did show a few new clips during the credits, but it was really short. 🙁 Also, about the added scene: It's an adaptation. They need to cut, add, combine things in order to get the point across in the most efficient way possible for the medium. The attack on the Burrow will not only add a bit more action, but it will be a dramatic reminder that the wizarding world is at war and that Voldemort is on the move. This new scene, along with the bridge collapse in the beginning will illustrate this better in film than having Ron announce that some more people have died or been attacked.

I agree with EmmaRocksSocks. If the movies were exactly like the books, less kids would be reading.
At least MTV showed more than 5 seconds of clips we've already seen with music covering all the the audio from said clips. *glares are pitiful Oscar clip* …
Emma looks awesome and lovely as always. =) It's dissapointing they didn't interview her, or maybe they did but didnt show it. I can't wait for HBP!
