EWO has announced that Emma is indeed the new face of Burberry. I guess this is no surprise after hearing about her autumn/winter campaign, but now it’s official. I think we’ll see much more from her in the future.
Emma suffers minor back injury
Emma was to be a guest at the Raisa Gorbachev Ball this past Saturday, but did not attend. The Evening Standard is reporting that “Last week Watson suffered a minor back injury and was advised not to go to the Raisa midsummer ball, hosted by Mikhail Gorbachev, where J K Rowling had been a guest.” Thankfully it does not seem too serious as nothing was said on EWO. Take care Emma, and hope you have a speedy recovery.

muggle_born, I don’t know how reliable Evening Standard is in general, but the rest of the article seems mostly true, and it seems like a plausible reason for Emma not to attend.

Oh I didn't see the back injury part….hope she is alright I wonder how she injured it??? One of my friends said she only made that up because she is turning in to a diva which w/e emma is not that way at all 😛

Emma is most certainly not a diva! She is the exact opposite, which is one of the major reasons, I'm sure, that Burberry chose her. That press release was absolutely breathless with praise about her personality. Good general rule: NEVER believe ANYTHING you read in the British press, with the single possible exception of the Times. Their press is almost completely out of control. I am close to being the world's greatest Emma admirer, and the two sites I have found that are absolutely trustworthy are this one right here (THANK you, Dook) and of course her own. Just stick to those two and you are safe. 😉

Arm, the Raisa Gorbachev Foundation Ball was a charity dinner. They raise money to help children with cancer. See the June 4 update. Emma was listed as a guest but she did not attend. She did go in 2007.

That's a shame that Emma got hurt! I am glad it wasn't worse than it was. I hope she has a speedy recover. That's neat that she is the new face for Burberry and she does look beautiful in the new pictures.

😕 She didn`t "not attend" for no reason?!? Maybe something happened in her family or with one of her friends and someone leaked a cover story…or maybe it`s entirely true. But that`s not the point. Did anyone claim to have seen her doing something else at the time ? No ? Was the ball cancelled ? No ? So the ball went ahead, money was raised…and Emma wasn`t there for some reason. Get over it and stop hinting that she might have had selfish motives for that. 😡
