Emma Watson (17) has once again been trusted to play in the magical adventure of the 5th Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. In real-life, Emma has put a spell on us with her huge talent and her super eagerness to keep learning.
From zero to hero - Maybe that's exactly how you could put it for Emma. Before Harry Potter she was nobody, but because of her amazing debut performance, her name has sky-rocketed. It has made her a celebrity and is idolized by everyone. Here are 10 things about Emma Watson that will surely make us love her even more.
- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was her first ever movie role, and it was a major success! "Before Harry Potter I've never done any auditions, and I've never done any professional acting. In Harry Potter, I was given a huge opportunity to learn more about acting and I did it without much practice", she says. Her acting was amazing even though it was her 1st ever time!
- Other than acting, Emma loves playing sports, especially hockey, "I am a competitive person. Field Hockey is my strongest sport, and if I lose the game, I take a long, hot bath and moan about it", she says. But if she had to choose between quidditch or hockey, Emma says "Quidditch, without a doubt, because there's more action and it's so much wilder!"
- When the holidays come, Emma would rather go skiing in the mountains rather than sunbathing on the beach, "I'm the type of person who hates to just lie around doing nothing. I must do something!" she says.
- What secrets lies in Emma Watson's bedroom? "I love collecting weird objects from places I've been to. One of them are my doll collection from Russia. I also always keep all the cards people send me, I usually stick them on a wall in my bedroom. So, I have a very full and messy room!"
- What is Emma's style - Is she a tomboy or a girlie girl? Emma says, "I'm a mix. I can dress and act like just one of the boys if I'm hanging out with boys, but I also love fashion and make-up. I don't always wear make-up, but when I want to look pretty, my friends and I like to dig in our wardrobe, trying on clothes and painting our nails." What famous designers does she prefer? Emma loves clothes from Chanel, "I love their clothes because they're classic, beautiful, and original." Other brands she likes are Chloe, Alberta Ferretti, and AgnesB. So, is Emma Watson a true fashionista? "I love dressing up, but it doesn't rule or dictate me".
- What type of guys is she in to? "I love guys that can make me laugh… and someone who can make me feel comfortable being myself. Confidence is good; arrogance is not. Someone that can listen to me, not boring, and true. But my guy doesn't have to have all those criterias, one or two is just fine.
- What are the similarities between Emma and Hermione? Emma says "Hermione is a feminist and very bright. She's a loyal person, always wants to know everything and she has a big heart. Sometimes she's nervous around a lot of people, but not afraid to say what she thinks. We're similar in the sense that we're both feminists, we have strong wills to do things, and we put friendship above everything. If I have a friend, then I stay through to the end". And what if she suddenly had the ability to do magic like Hermione? "My life would be great! I'm always so jealous of Hermione who can turn time. I sometimes really want to stop time to take a short break from it all before I continue with my day to day life."
- Just like Hermione, Emma loves school. For now, she is still a student at a school in Homogen in Oxford. "When we're filming, I'm allowed to have a holiday on Mondays, so I can meet up with the teachers and have a chance to catch up in the rest of the week. And I get a tutor who helps me finish school assignments on set. Every Friday, I'm given a box to put all my assignments in, and then they send it off to my school. After it's been checked and graded, my teachers will send it back to the place I'm filming at" she says… We think that's amazing! So what's in the future for Emma? "I really want to go to Cambridge University. The job I have now [acting] is very hard to sustain, and I need something else I can hold on to for my future just incase acting doesn't work out".
- There are only 2 movies left for Harry Potter. How does Emma feel about that? "I will definitely miss it. I can't imagine my life without the Harry Potter series, and it has become a big part of my life. But I think the Harry Potter world will never die. The books will always be loved, and the movies will always capture the imagination of children and adults for a very long time."
- So, what will Emma do after her job is done with the Harry Potter series? "I would really love to keep acting, I love doing it. I also want to continue with my studies, and I don't want to have to choose between acting or school. I'm still growing up, changing all the time. I hope I have enough talent to play a different character and a different role." Ofcourse you are Emma! CosmoGirl will look forward to see what you have in store for us next!
