I have some random updates for you all today.

Firstly, EWO has been updated with some wonderful art from the fans!

The official Harry Potter site has a new look to it for the US release of the OotP DVD. You can see a new trailer, download a countdown and more.

Harry Potter weekend returns to ABC Family for the “25 Days of Christmas” 😆  The first three films of the Harry Potter series will air as part of a Harry Potter weekend beginning on Friday, November 30 with Sorcerer’s Stone at 7:30 p.m. ET. It will be followed by Chamber of Secrets on Saturday, December 1 at 7 p.m. ET and Prisoner of Azkaban on Sunday, December 2 at 6 p.m. ET (re-airing Thursday, December 13 at 8 p.m. ET).

I know many of you have seen the films more times than you can count, but we never miss a chance to watch our Emma!

Also, we’d like to thank Caitlin for letting us know that you can vote for Emma on People.com so that she’s the next celeb having her own “Celebrity Central” page on the website. Emma’s up against Ashley Tisdale and Sabrina Bryan – needless to say, she deserves to win! 😉  

Last but not least, you can now vote for the “HP Kids” (aka Emma, Dan & Rupert) in the Entertainment Weekly “Entertainer of the Year” competition. To do just that, click here, go to “Division 3” (on the left side of the screen) and keep voting for the “HP Kids” until they win the round 🙂

Time for the calendar competition!  🙂

We also have another DVD Launch video, this one from BBC News, where the trio talk about dealing with the pressures of fame. Thanks to Hannah and Nishant for the tip.

For the second part of our project we are making a Christmas Card for Emma. Please send us your message to Emma using the form at the link below. Sorry, it must be in english, and no emails, phone numbers or addresses are allowed. The card with your messages will be printed  as a booklet and guaranteed delivered to Emma, so here’s your chance to wish Emma a Happy Christmas. 🙂

And here’s a reminder of Part 1 of the project:

For part of this years Christmas project we are going to make a book of our favorite things about Christmas or the holiday season. And by “our” I mean all the fans at EW.net, so we would like you to let us know what your favorite things are. If you are a little lost for ideas, here are some suggestions. Send us a picture of something you really like about Christmas, like snowmen or presents or Christmas lights. Or you could do it in a drawing and send us a scan. You could send us the recipe for your favorite christmas cookies. Or the lyrics to a favorite Christmas song. Maybe there is a movie like It’s a Wonderful Life that you always watch at Christmas time. Or a favorite Christmas book you like to read. Or it could be your own short story about a very special Christmas you had. You can send us anything as long as it’s something you like about Christmas. Use your imagination. The more variety we get the better it will be. You can also add a short note saying why it is a favorite if you like.

The deadline for submissions for messages and favorites is November 30.


And now a treat for people outside of the UK who couldn’t watch the AOL video from the DVD launch. Here it is downloadable in AVI format. And UK people might find the quality better than what was shown before. The MQ is actually very good, with the HQ only a little bit better and even the LQ is pretty good.

Today, we have a new DVD launch interview for you. You can read the whole thing here but here is Emma’s quote:

“In this next one there’s a lot of emphasis on the relationship between Hermione and Ron and I think this next one will be more comic. I think the last one was a lot darker and heavier and this one will be funnier and more light-hearted.“

“I’m really pleased how well this fifth one has done because you know normally with franchises the first one is pretty big and it gradually sinks downhill from then. But Harry Potter just seems to be getting more and more successful.”

(About the girl who plays Lavender) “She seems really sweet and perfect for the role of Lavender. The casting is so good and I am looking forward to her scenes with Ron. I think it’s going to be quite a comic film.”
