About tug-of-war (2004): "On sports day I did tug-of-war. The girls at my school were all at one end of the rope, and the guys at my school all at the other end. Who won? The girls. Apparently it's to do with us having stronger thighs or something. We were good."

Twist and Shout

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

Ok, no Shout, but we do have photos of the Polish magazine Twist, with an Emma Watson cover story, thanks to Joanna. Most of the article is old news, or wrong, but there was one interesting quote.  “When I meet my fans I try to explain it to them: You love Hermione not me, she’s a star not me. It really flatters me when you ask me for an autograph but shouldn’t I sign then as Hermione Granger?”

Emma is featured on Yahoo’s Summer’s Best and Worst Looks list.  They gave her an A+, “Emma Watson stole the spotlight at “Potter’s” New York premiere in a divine Proenza Schouler dress, highlighted by a black halter bodice.” Thanks to Courtney for the tip.

Emma is in the Russian edition of Vogue on newstands now. It looks like the same article that appeared last year in the Italian Vogue, but this is a chance for our Russian friends to get a copy. Thanks to Gaby for the tip.

We have some more Half-Blood Prince poster displays, this time from Madrid. The poster they used only features a small Hermione, but it’s a huge poster. Thanks to Dominique for sending them in.

September Calendar Vote is now Open

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

Voting for the September Calendar Competition is now open!

On the voting page, you will see small thumbnails of each entry. Click on the thumbnail to see a 640×480 preview. To vote, select the Radio button above the calendar you like, then scroll to the end of the page and click the Vote button. If you see the message “Thank you for voting” your vote was recorded. If you see the thumbs and radio buttons, try again.

You may vote once per day. Voting will close at midnight GMT, August 31.

Voting is now closed.

Please let’s keep this a fair competition. If I detect improper voting, I will throw out the results and the staff will select the winner.

Update: There has been some questions about how many times you can vote. You can vote once a day for one calendar. So, you can vote for one today, and then after about 22 hours you can vote again. It can be a different calendar of course. Then the next day you can vote again. So you should be able to vote 5 or 6 times in the competition if you come back every day.

Update: Four calendars have been disqualified for cheating already. If this continues, we’ll go back to the staff choosing.

This and That

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

The Swiss magazine Femina ranked Emma Watson #1 in their “10 Women of this Summer” list. The text includes a rumor about her choice in university and the false Cinderella movie rumor, so I won’t include a translation. Thanks to Jeanne for the scan.

The online magazine ASOS featured Emma in a couple pictures in their newsletter. Thanks to Emma for the tip.

The Lithuanian magazine TV Antena had a cover and article featuring Emma. Thanks to Jurate for the photos.

The August issue of Bravo had an article on Emma, and a feature on her favorite drink. Thanks to Toni for the tip.  Credit: Emma Watson Web

Emma was on Teen Vogue’s best dressed list for July. Thanks to Eef for the tip.

And finally we have a couple of interesting HBP poster displays from Berlin and Prague. Thanks to Watco and Irene for the photos.

Calendar Competition Reminder: Don’t forget, the deadline for the calendar competition comes early this month, August 26 at 08:00 GMT. Late entries will not be accepted.

More Burberry Displays

Friday, August 21st, 2009

We have more pictures of Burberry store displays featuring Emma Watson today. 🙂

Ada sent these pictures from an airport in Korea.

Christina sent in pictures from Coral Gables, Florida and Mall of America in Minnesota.

Marie took these photos when she was at Centralworld in Bangkok.

Ahlam was visiting London and took these photos of the London store.

Mildred sent us this one from the Burberry store in Hong Kong Sogo.

And from Athens, Greece we have these photos from a Burberry boutique. There was no name to credit, so I’ll say these are from Parvati.

Thank you all for sending in the photos.

More Magazine Scans

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

We have a bunch of scans for you today.

Charly sent in some scans from the German magazines Jolie where they talk about Burberry, and Bunte that rates Dan, Emma and Rupert the top three hottest young stars.

Shelly tipped us on some Russian magazine scans. I think they translate to All Stars and MK Boulevard. Credit to Emma Watson Web for the scans.

Caroline told us about an article on Emma’s style in an online Brazilian magazine, and Hannah found this in ASOS’s online magazine.
I forgot to add this one before so it’s a bit old, but Cinemania had a long feature on Harry Potter and the stars. Thanks to Daniela for some of the scans, and translations where it talks about Emma.

New HBP Photoshoot Pictures, More Burberry displays

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

We’ve added some new pictures of Emma from the Half-Blood Prince photoshoot to the gallery. Credit: Oclumencia.

We have more photos of Burberry store displays featuring photos of Emma Watson. Jenny sent in this photo from outside a Burberry store in Hong Kong, and Tabitha sent in a photo of the Burberry store on 5th Avenue in New York.

Here is a display in a Palacio de Hierrro store in Mexico. Gaby had to sneak a picture so the quality isn’t that good.
Joann sent in this photo from a display in London.

September Calendar Competition and Vote

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Over the past couple years a number of people have suggested that fans vote in the calendar competition. We have decided to try it this month and see how it goes. The rules for submitting calendars are the same except the deadline is earlier to give people time to vote before the end of the month. The deadline is also firm. In the past I have accepted late entries, but I won’t be able to do that anymore. Voting will begin shortly after the deadline and continue to the end of the month. I will post more information when it’s time to vote.

So, let’s get started.

  • The size of the calendar should be 1024×768 or larger
  • Calendars must be in a common graphics format such as jpg, tiff, gif or png.
  • It must have Emma-Watson.net and September on it.
  • The deadline to submit calendars is 08:00 GMT on August 26.
  • No more than 3 entries per person please. All entries must be sent to emmawatson.graphics@gmail.com
  • If you use hotmail or msn, please attach the picture to your email as a FILE, not a PICTURE. If you use picture, it will shrink the image to a small size.

Entertainment Weekly Photoshoot Outtakes

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Outtakes from the Entertainment Weekly photoshoot for their July cover story on Harry Potter have appeared online. Most of the photos are of Daniel Radcliffe, but one does include Emma. I have added it, and some other small photos from the shoot to the gallery. Thanks to Oclumencia.
