Scholastic has an article with Emma talking about Tale of Despereaux and Half-Blood Prince. With the article is a lovely new picture. Thanks to Anna for the tip.
In another article on MTV, Emma talks more about TOD and upcoming movie roles. “I’m attached to a film called “Napoleon and Betsy,” which will hopefully get shot in 2010. I’ve got the colossal final book to finish off, and I’m going to university in September. I’m looking at scripts and auditioning. I’m very excited to do roles beyond “Potter.” It’s a very exciting time for me.” And she talks about school, “I may stay in the U.K., but I’m also looking at universities in the States, on the East Coast probably. I’ve applied already to some schools over there.” and what kind of roles she’d like to try in the future, “I want when people look back on my career for them to not be able to put me in a box and say, “She always played this kind of role.” I want to do everything. I would love to be in a musical. I want to sing. I want to do a crazy Baz Luhrmann “Moulin Rouge!” sort of thing. I’d love to do a period piece. I’d love to do a French film. There are so many options out there!” Emma said she is “attached” to Napolean and Betsy. Attached doesn’t always mean an actor will be in the movie, but this looks promising. Thanks to Lea for the tip.
On The Tale of Despereaux movie site, there are some new videos with behind the scenes looks at the TOD story and filming, and some include clips of Emma. On the splash page click Enter the Site, then Menus, then Videos to find them.
As we told you earlier, ABC Family channel in the US is having a Harry Potter Weekend as part of it’s 25 Days of Christmas. Over the weekend they will show the first 4 movies. There will also be sneak peaks at Half-Blood Prince with comments by Emma, Dan and Ron Rupert. (Oops, sorry Rupert)
Here we go with the first segment. I’ll just post low res versions now, with a high res version at the end.

Emma appeared on the Blue Peter show yesterday. She talked a little about Tale of Despereaux, and a mouse in her house, but it was a rather short segment. Mostly one of the hosts talked about making Christmas cards.
