This and That
The Daily Express had an article online and in print today about Emma, university, People Tree, Deathly Hallows and the end of Harry Potter. There is little new information. Most of the article appears to be old quotes, rumors, and some incorrect information. I'm not sure they talked to Emma at all. Thanks to Snitchseeker for the scan.

Vanity Fair published a list of the top 40 earners in hollywood for 2009 and Dan, Emma and Rupert are all in the top 15. With her fees for Deathly Hallows parts 1 and 2, Emma is the highest ranked female on the list.

France's One magazine interviewed Emma, Dan and Rupert in an article in the current issue. HarryPotterForever translated some quotes from the article and I've included those from Emma.

To kiss Rupert in front of cameras will stay the strangest experience for me, since I've played in Harry Potter. Him and I was frightened about this scene, and would like to do it quickly. But the hardest is coming ... I have to kiss Dan ! It's a scene where Ron imagine a kiss between Harry and Hermione."

"We haven't filmed the epilogue yet, in which we can see the future of Harry, Ron and Hermione 19 years later. At the beginning, producers would like to replace us, but they finally kept us. We will look like 40 years old persons. I'm very impatient to see that !"

Burberry stores now have displays for the Spring/Summer line featuring Emma and her brother Alex. Jenny sent in these photos from a store in Hong Kong. Thanks Jenny.

Emma Watson and People Tree in Coco Eco *Updated*
In a new interview for Coco Eco magazine, Emma talks about 'Love from Emma', her Fair Trade fashion collection for People Tree.  There are some more details about how she was involved, and more pictures from the photoshoot for the catalog. The shot has Emma with her brother and friends in the English countryside during the last days of summer before Emma left for school. The picnic, playing by the lake, it was all real, and I think it shows in Emma's sometimes happy, sometimes wistful, expressions.

Update: I have three of the new pics that appear in Coco Eco in a bit larger resolution.

Thanks to Snitchseeker for the tip.

Emma on Fair Trade Fashion, School and Auditioning for a Play
Emma Watson talks about her Fair Trade range for People Tree, her schooling, and a possible new role in a new article for the Telegraph. There are also three new pictures from the People Tree shoot.

"There's much more awareness among my generation. The planet is at risk and I wanted to do so something," says Emma. "Then, I met Safia about 18 months ago, and we started talking about me doing a collection for People Tree. The timing was right. It's hard to know what is good and what is bad on the high street and equally hard to find fashionable or youthful ethical clothing. I don't want to wear something on my body that hurts the environment or the people in it. I wanted to put together a collection I could be proud of in terms of both ethics and design. It shocks me that even today only one per cent of cotton produced in the world is Fair Trade and organic."

"I've not had any fashion training, but I am an artist. I paint, I draw and I had a great team to work with. I designed the collection for myself and my friends; they’re the sort of thing we wear - the difference being they’re ecologically sound. I became completely engrossed. I tried on the clothes, I worked on the catalogue and my friends and I were models. We all worked for free."

Emma mentions the possibility of a second collection for People Tree, "If people like it and it sells, I’m committed."

She also talks about school, and a possible new acting role. She is currently studying art, painting and drawing, history, English, poetry, and starting lessons in contemporary ballet in the summer. "I’m going to be there for four years but I’m not planning to disappear. I’m auditioning for a play, Chekhov’s Three Sisters, and I’m still reading scripts. Where I’ll be in ten years’ time, I really have no idea. I am on the brink of making some big decisions."

New information from People Tree

A lot of people have asked where they can buy Emma's range outside Europe. A rep from People Tree told us they plan to ship to Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US in addition to the EU countries. They hope to have this available by next week.

People Tree also sent us a couple hi-resolution images from the shoot.

New People Tree Photos and Interview
The Daily Mail has a new interview with Emma Watson and images from the brochure shoot for Emma’s spring/summer People Tree range. They talked with Emma and People Tree founder Safia Minney about the challenge of designing clothes that will appeal to teenagers fashion sense as well as their conscience.

Minney spoke of Emma's commitment to the project. "I was amazed at how many hours Emma put into this collection. We'd often go to her home in the evening after she finished filming to go through ideas, or she'd come to the studio laden with her own artwork - it was extremely impressive. Emma may not be your average teenager - I've not come across many 19-year-olds who have a work ethic like hers - but her eye for what teenagers want has been invaluable and it shows in the range. She got all her friends involved in the ideas process and was serious about getting everything right"

You’ve done acting, modelling, and now you’re designing. Is this the future for Emma Watson?
Oh, I don’t have any plans to be a designer. I’m doing this range because I really care about fair-trade and ethical fashion. I’m so pleased that I got involved, but I don’t want to take all the credit for being the designer because I haven’t trained as a designer or even gone to art college ļ¿½ in fact, I had no idea about the amount of work involved at the outset!

So this is not an Emma Watson clothing line?
I didn’t want this collection to be all about me. This is not a celebrity endorsement, it is about creating something that is genuinely a great idea and about making a difference through fashion.

How did the collaboration come about?

It was all because my friend, Alex Nicholls, was wearing this great People Tree T-shirt one day, which I liked. He then told me all about the company ļ¿½ he knows Safia and said that I should meet her. He set up an introduction and Safia and I just clicked. A couple of weeks later she got in touch with the idea of a teen range ļ¿½ they were doing older ranges and baby clothes but nothing in between ļ¿½ and asked if I’d like to help put it together. I said yes straight away.

Wise move, People Tree ļ¿½ every teen wants to dress like you!
I am very interested in fashion and I’ve been working a lot in the fashion world recently ļ¿½ it’s such an influential industry, so I knew that trying to help people, trying to alleviate poverty through a fashion line, could work. Fashion is a great way to empower people and give them skills; rather than give cash to charity you can help people by buying the clothes they make and supporting things they take pride in. It’s that simple.

Where did you get your design inspiration for the range?
I went through my summer wardrobe and thought, ‘If I filtered thisso that it was just the very basics, what would I want to keep?’ The answer was cotton vests, easy T-shirt dresses, nice scarves to accessorise with and some lovely linen pieces. For the boys’ range I’ve done hoodies, which I know they’ll love. The clothes are very British, which is why we shot them in an English country garden ļ¿½ it’s all very strawberries and cream and tennis.

We particularly like the T-shirts printed with slogans such as ‘I’m not toxic’ and ‘Please don’t panic, I’m organic’.

I was keen not to preach ļ¿½ you don’t want to be too serious or heavy. I also came up with a daisy print which I’m really proud of ļ¿½ it’s fun and messy. I just wanted to make clothes that are wearable, cool and easy.

What is your favourite part of the collection?

I would wear all the clothes, which are made in Bangladesh, India and Nepal, and there is also some amazing jewellery ļ¿½ especially a necklace made from recycled sweet wrappers, which is made in Bangladesh. It comes in a box also made of sweet wrappers. Brilliant!

It must have been a fast learning curve for you, being on the design side of things for the first time...

It was such fun going through all the Pantone colour books with Safia, but yes, I had to learn quickly ļ¿½ the colours on the page don’t always look the same on the fabrics, so you have to be patient. It’s a case of learning as you go along, and it’s all massively time consuming! When we did the first set of samples some of them looked great but others needed altering a lot.

If the reaction on the shoot is anything to go by, these clothes are going to be out of stock long before spring is here!

I really enjoyed the shoot. All the models are friends of mine: my housemate Sophie, my brother Alex. I basically called in favours ļ¿½ a lot of the crew are friends too. They are all super-talented, so I am very lucky that they were prepared to help out. I asked Andrea Carter-Bowman to do the photos as I just love her work, and she’s young. So this really is a collection for young people put together by young people. And I’m so proud of it ļ¿½ it’s exactly how I intended it to look.

You are something of a fashionista, but were you completely new to fair-trade fashion?
The first time I heard about fair trade was during a geography coursework project, and I remember thinking, ‘Why isn’t everything fair trade?’ Everyone knows about fair-trade bananas and coffee, but of course anything can be fair trade. Fair-trade fashion costs a bit more but allows those who make it to earn a decent living; to be able to take care of their families and live with dignity.

But do you think it is possible to enjoy high-street fashion and also support fair trade?
It’s important to differentiate between fast fashion, which is made very quickly for a very small price, and fair-trade fashion. So if you buy a T-shirt for £2, you just have to do the maths and work our how much the person who made it is being paid.

How realistic is it that the Primark generation will buy into this range and concept?
It sounds like a clichļ¿½, but we are the future. The earth is ours and will be our children’s, and I think that more than any other generation we are aware of environmental and humanitarian issues. That’s why it’s so great that People Tree is doing something aimed at people of my age ļ¿½ because we do care and we will buy with a conscience. I hope that more companies will follow People Tree’s example.

Emma in AskMen's Top 99 Women, and Det Nye's Best Dressed
Emma Watson is one of AskMen.com's Top 99 Women for 2010. Coming in at number 55, Emma is the youngest to make the list, and one of two teens. (Kristen Stewart also made the list, and is a week older.) The annual poll looks at more than just who is 'hottest'. "The Top 99 asks readers to rank famous females based on traits beyond sex appeal, for instance the traits that they would want in an ideal companion."

Emma is #3 in the Norwegian magazine DET NYE's top 6 list of best dressed women in 2009. They say about Emma, "British actress Emma Watson (19) has switched her robes for sparkling dresses. The child star is now looked upon as a real fashionista!" Thanks to Nienna for the tip.

We also have a couple scans for you thanks to Elmira. Emma appears in the January Elle Girl and December Vogue from Russia.

Emma Talks about Her Favorite Foods
We have a new old video for you today. Emma was featured on "Hollywood & Dine", a program on the Reelz channel where "stars talk about their favorite foods, and what is cooking in their career". In press junket interviews from the Half-Blood Prince and The Tale of Despereaux, Emma talks about HBP and her recipe for stuffed peppers. The episode aired last October 28, and was recorded by Bob who emailed it to me mid December, where it languished in my spam folder until I found it just recently. Thank you for sending it in Bob.

Emma Watson Likes Getting Out of Hogwarts
Yahoo Movies UK spoke with Emma and Dan Radcliffe during a recent visit to the Deathly Hallows set. A full report will come out closer to the movies release, but Yahoo has posted a sneak peek.

Much of the story in Deathly Hallows occurs away from Hogwarts, in what Dan calls a "road movie", and that along with the darker tone will give this movie a much different feel than. Emma says, "It's challenging in every way - physically, emotionally. They’re away from home. They’re isolated, they don’t have any news. They don’t know what they’re doing. They’re pulling at shreds. Dumbledore had hardly left them anything to go on."

The 'road movie' aspect meant a lot of outdoor sets and Emma enjoyed the change, "It was so nice to be outside, in the forest and out of the studio - running about. It was so much fun. Because it’s such an emotional, heavy film, it was nice to get out and do some action stuff. They were very fun scenes to film. Being out of Hogwarts just makes it really different. It just gives the audience a whole different experience. I’m so excited to see it together."

Jessie Cave [Lavendar Brown] mentions Emma in an interview for Scholastic's Ink Splot 26 blog. Jessie talked about her experience filming, and what it was like to be the "new girl in town". When asked who she bonded with most, "On set? Definitely Emma. I really got on with Emma really well. I thought she was brilliant."

Thanks to Leaky and Snitchseeker.

Emma talks about Half-Blood Prince
Emma, Dan, Rupert, Bonnie, and David Yates talked with the Brazilian blog Vira-Tempo about Deathly Hallows, and the Half-Blood Prince DVD. They asked Emma about filming Half-Blood Prince, and how she felt about the film, and the previous movies. You can read Emma's interview here or I've included their English translation below.

QUESTION: So, this is the first time the audience has really seen a more vulnerable side of Hermione. How do you feel about bringing this side of her life to the screen?
EMMA WATSON: I really enjoyed playing the more vulnerable side to her character. She’s quite emotional, angry and crazy, so it was fun to play her.

QUESTION: What was the most challenging aspect shooting this film?
EMMA WATSON: The most challenging aspect of this film was the fact that I was trying to take my A-levels at the same time I was filming. So my life was crazy. One minute I was on set, and the next minute I was doing an exam, or reading a textbook, or doing something, so I was a bit all over the place. Sometimes it’s kind of hard to juggle both aspects of my life.

QUESTION: And what about acting-wise? Was there something that was really difficult as far as her character?
EMMA WATSON: Yes, there’s a scene where Hermione cries, when Ron kisses Lavender, and so that was kind of hard. It’s very hard to make yourself cry. And I had to do it three or four times while lots of people were watching…that was tough.

QUESTION: But how do you do it? Do you think of something sad? What do you do to make yourself cry?
EMMA WATSON: I guess I would call myself more of a method actress. I do genuinely kind of try to go through things in my head and really kind of put myself there.

QUESTION: Was there a scene or sequence that you really enjoyed filming for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince?
EMMA WATSON: I really enjoyed the Quidditch sequence with Ron just because it’s always nice to do a bit of comedy. And I just thought the whole thing was hilarious, so I really enjoyed it.

QUESTION: This is the second time you’ve worked with this director (David Yates). Does that affect or change what it’s like for you to come to set every day?
EMMA WATSON: Yes, I guess it does. In the first Harry Potter that David directed, (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) he was really finding his feet, meeting lots of new people, and working with a crew that had already worked together. And now, he’s very much part of the team and I think he felt a lot more confident. Not that he wasn’t on the first one, but I think everyone was just more settled, which was nice.

QUESTION: Hermione and Ron obviously have a bit of a romance in the movie. Were you excited for this storyline?
EMMA WATSON: Yes, I was very excited. It might not be the most obvious storyline in a way. I think a lot of fans always saw Hermione and Harry together, but I think that Hermione and Ron are very strange, but kind of perfect for each other. They’re very different, but you know, they make each other laugh. Ron lightens her up. Hermione’s quite a serious character, so I think they’re good for each other.

QUESTION: It seems that it would be more fun to play Hermione when you’re in a scene with Ron, because he looks like he’s having a good time?
EMMA WATSON: Definitely. Yes. I like doing scenes with Rupert because we get to kind of bounce off each other and they tend to be the funny ones.

QUESTION: Can you talk a little about the balance between the romance and the comedy, and the action and danger in the film?
EMMA WATSON: Yes, there’s definitely an impending sense of danger in this film. The very opening sequence, is like a terrorist attack with the Dementors, and we’re very aware that Voldemort is back. And so there’s definitely a sense that things are kind of heating up, basically for the last film. So yes, it’s a very exciting film.

QUESTION: What do you enjoy playing more, the comedy, the adventure or the danger?
EMMA WATSON: I suppose it’s nice to do a bit of everything. It’s nice to play a variety, which I think is great. You know, to do one scene that’s really comic, and then do another scene that’s very serious, and then do another scene that’s all about the action – stunts or running, or whatever crazy thing they’re doing, I think variety is definitely the best.

QUESTION: Keeps it fresh?
EMMA WATSON: Yes.

QUESTION: How has this film stood out amongst the other five?
EMMA WATSON: This one definitely stood out to me as more of a romantic comedy. For once, it’s not really so plot focused, or plot driven. It’s much more character driven. It’s much more about Hermione, Harry, Ron, Ginny and their stories, and what’s happening in their school year. It’s just more about us. So it’s nice.

QUESTION: Now that you’ve seen the film, what’s your favorite storyline to watch, or what are some of your favorite moments?
EMMA WATSON: My favorite moments are Ron playing Quidditch. I just think he’s hysterical. Also, Ron taking a love potion. I think he’s really funny, so for me those moments are my favorite.

QUESTION: What surprised you the most the first time you saw the film? It must be strange to spend so much time on these scenes and then you sit down, you watch the film and it all comes together.
EMMA WATSON: Yeah, it’s really strange. You’d think that there wouldn’t be a lot that would surprise you, but even the third time I was watching the film, there’s this moment where the Inferi come out of the lake and one of them grabs Harry. And every single time I watch that, I jump out of my skin! I’m just like, oh my God! I really jump! This film is still great to watch.

QUESTION: Can we discuss the first film? Rewinding back to the beginning. What is your favorite moment or scene from Harry Potter One and the Sorcerer’s Stone?
EMMA WATSON: It’s hard for me not to watch the first film and for it to be so memorable. I get very sentimental. I love watching it. It’s great to watch the scene where I come onto to the train for the opening sequence. I’m really fond of that sequence because it was also my audition tape. I did that scene so many times and then when I did it in the film, it was the first time I’d ever seen myself on screen. It was one of my first big scenes and so, that has a lot of significance and meaning to me. So, yes, I have a lot of fond memories.

QUESTION: It’s really the beginning.
EMMA WATSON: Yes, it is.

QUESTION: The troll scene from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’ Stone, was that kind of a turning point in the relationship between you, Harry and Ron?
EMMA WATSON: Definitely. The troll sequence is the turning point in their friendship because Ron is horrible to Hermione and he hates her because she’s such a goody two-shoes. Hermione sticks up for them and shows them that she cares more about them and their friendship than she does t sucking up to teachers. So they kind of bond there at that moment and they realize that she’s kind of okay, and they become friends. And that’s where it all begins.

QUESTION: Do you enjoy re-watching the films or is it difficult?
EMMA WATSON: It’s kind of painful, to be honest. The very early films, I kind of enjoy watching because I’ve had quite a lot of distance from them, so I feel quite disconnected. But the fifth, the fourth, maybe even the third film, I find a bit cringy to watch.

QUESTION: Oh, it was all so cute! And, that’s kind of your yearbook. You probably remember what you were doing during those scenes, and where your life was?
EMMA WATSON: No, it literally feels like a different lifetime. I look at myself and it’s like a different girl. It’s very strange.

QUESTION: Your character has quite a crush on Gilderoy Lockhart in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. How do you think this helps develop the character? Do you think it does?
EMMA WATSON: I think it’s very endearing. Hermione has a crush on a teacher and I think it’s even more endearing that he turns out to be such an idiot. And that it’s all a big mistake, really. I think it’s just humorous. It’s just funny.

December Calendar Vote
Time to get the voting started!

Ok, things are going to be different this time. There were problems with the old way of voting, so I'm trying something new. You only get to vote one time, but you get to vote for more than one calendar. Here's how it goes:

  1. View the calendars here. Click on the thumbnails to see a larger preview image. Take your time, there are 74 entries this month.
  2. Choose your favorite 5 calendars, and write down their numbers in order, from best to 5th place, like 84, 216, 114, ... You don't have to choose 5, you can vote for just one if you like, but you can vote for 5. (no, there aren't 216 entries, those are fake numbers).
  3. Send your vote in an email to emmawatson.contest@gmail.com or in a PM to me on the forums, dookdookdook.

Voting is open through Novermber 29, 00:00 GMT.

Update: It's been a lot less work to tally votes than I thought it would be, so I've decided to extend the voting through December 1, 00:00 GMT. I was afraid my directions wouldn't be clear enough, but so far everyone has done a great job with their votes. Thanks everyone!

Update: Voting is now closed.

Good luck everyone!

Emma Watson Collaborates with People Tree
There have been rumors of Emma designing her own clothes line for some time now. Well now the real story is out. She is not designing a line but she has been a creative advisor for a new collection with People Tree. People Tree supports fair trade fashions and much of the new line uses organically grown, fairly traded coton, and are made entirely by hand providing jobs in poor countries.

"I wanted to help People Tree produce a younger range because I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to alleviate poverty and knew it was something I could help make a difference with. It has been the most incredible gap year project."

The collection is a spring/summer line and will launch in February next year.

You can read a lot more about this in a new announcement on Emma's official site.

Twist and Shout
Ok, no Shout, but we do have photos of the Polish magazine Twist, with an Emma Watson cover story, thanks to Joanna. Most of the article is old news, or wrong, but there was one interesting quote.  "When I meet my fans I try to explain it to them: You love Hermione not me, she's a star not me. It really flatters me when you ask me for an autograph but shouldn't I sign then as Hermione Granger?"

Emma is featured on Yahoo's Summer's Best and Worst Looks list.  They gave her an A+, "Emma Watson stole the spotlight at "Potter's" New York premiere in a divine Proenza Schouler dress, highlighted by a black halter bodice." Thanks to Courtney for the tip.

Emma is in the Russian edition of Vogue on newstands now. It looks like the same article that appeared last year in the Italian Vogue, but this is a chance for our Russian friends to get a copy. Thanks to Gaby for the tip.

We have some more Half-Blood Prince poster displays, this time from Madrid. The poster they used only features a small Hermione, but it's a huge poster. Thanks to Dominique for sending them in.

September Calendar Vote is now Open
Voting for the September Calendar Competition is now open!

On the voting page, you will see small thumbnails of each entry. Click on the thumbnail to see a 640x480 preview. To vote, select the Radio button above the calendar you like, then scroll to the end of the page and click the Vote button. If you see the message "Thank you for voting" your vote was recorded. If you see the thumbs and radio buttons, try again.

You may vote once per day. Voting will close at midnight GMT, August 31.

Voting is now closed.

Please let's keep this a fair competition. If I detect improper voting, I will throw out the results and the staff will select the winner.

Update: There has been some questions about how many times you can vote. You can vote once a day for one calendar. So, you can vote for one today, and then after about 22 hours you can vote again. It can be a different calendar of course. Then the next day you can vote again. So you should be able to vote 5 or 6 times in the competition if you come back every day.

Update: Four calendars have been disqualified for cheating already. If this continues, we'll go back to the staff choosing.

September Calendar Competition and Vote
Over the past couple years a number of people have suggested that fans vote in the calendar competition. We have decided to try it this month and see how it goes. The rules for submitting calendars are the same except the deadline is earlier to give people time to vote before the end of the month. The deadline is also firm. In the past I have accepted late entries, but I won't be able to do that anymore. Voting will begin shortly after the deadline and continue to the end of the month. I will post more information when it's time to vote.

So, let's get started.

Where will Emma be in 10 Years
In an interview for USA Today Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint talked about their future plans and how they can leave behind the Harry Potter kids image. Dan had his Equus, and Rupert has his Cherrybomb. For Emma, she says it's modelling. "People see me as Hermione in real life. They forget that I'm acting. We're quite different people. I want people to understand that I'm versatile," Watson says. "My way of hoping people would see me differently was through modeling. I worked very hard and did a lot of modeling shoots. Burberry offered me the campaign. That has moved me away a little bit. I'm not good at selling myself."

Emma says her focus for the next four years will be university, and she's not going to worry about what comes after that now. She'd like to work with directors Alfonso Cuaron and Guillermo del Toro but doesn't feel any pressure. "Acting never was about the money for me. … Maybe in 10 years, I'll be able to appreciate the fact that I am financially stable and independent and I don't have to make bad choices. I can be very picky."

Women's Wear Daily Photoshoot and Interview
Women's Wear Daily has an interview with Emma in their July 14 issue. You can read it online here. New photos were taken by Thomas Iannaccone for the magazine and we have some MQ shots in the gallery. Thanks to Shelby and Watson-Daily

There was a recent rumor she would be desigining her own clothes line, but she clears that up with "I'm really not interested in doing it for my own ego. I'm not a designer," she says matter-of-factly. "If someone asked me to do something that was beneficial to a cause, then maybe I'd consider it, but not just [to be able to say] 'Look at me! I've got my own line!'" "[It's] gotten so ridiculous," she continues. "The idea of making my own perfume makes me want to vomit."

Emma talks about meeting Burberry's Christopher Bailey at last year's Burberry and Vanity Fair party at London's National Portrait Gallery. "We just really hit it off," remembers Watson of that night. Bailey later called to ask her to be in the latest Burberry campaign. "I was really excited," she says. "I’ve done a bit of modeling over the past year so I had practice."

This and That
Again I have a bunch of random small updates for you, and I'll just put them all together. I'll keep adding more until the next big update.

The Early Show: Next week Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe "share their magical Harry Potter adventures" on the Early Show according to a promo that aired during the show. I've updated some of the MQ pics to HQ that we have from Emma's taping session. Credit Terminator.

Also in the gallery, I've added a bunch of pictures from the New York premiere, credit includes Terminator and ICM.

There's a good radio interview with Emma on BBC 4's Front Row from July 7, starting about 1:00 minutes through 9:00 of the program. Emma talks about 10 years as Hermione, university, and acting in her future. Thanks to Pamela for the tip.

In another radio interview for Australia's Kyle and Jackie O show, Emma speaks Australian, talks about keeping her private life private, and what she wants to study at university. Thanks to Kerrie.

Paul Byrne interviewed Emma for Movies.ie on Monday and has posted it on youtube. It's a good interview, Emma looks like she enjoyed it. Paul says he interviewed other cast members too, and their interviews will be up soon.

Also on youtube, here is a great video from the UK premiere from Elizabeth Toni. Much better quality than the live feed. From her channel you can view more videos from the premiere. Thanks Connie for the tip.

Harpers Bazaar let us know they have declared Emma a "rising fashion star". I'm sure you remember Emma's fashion spread in last year's October issue of the magazine. Now, they've put together a slideshow of their favorite Emma fashion moments.

Speaking of fashion, Shania on the forums saw a bit of Burberry promotion when she was in London for the premiere.

More soon.

New York Premiere of Half-Blood Prince
It was a busy day for Emma. She made a quick visit on Today and taped guest spots for Live with Regis and Kelly and the Early Show and then ended the day with another walk down the red carpet at the New York Premiere. I think we're past the peak of the promotional excitement now, but there's quite a bit more to come. TV appearances and specials, and a lot of things I haven't had the time to post yet. I'll start with some pictures from the premiere. I've added some to the gallery, with more coming later.

Half Blood-Prince London Press Conference
Along with the photocall today, there was a press conference and press junket interviews for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Videos are starting to appear and we have a few for you below. But first, some recent comments Emma made in interviews got the media buzzing about how she was going to quit acting forever. She says "I don't really know why they wrote that. I guess it makes more of an interesting headline." In another quote Emma says, "I am just looking forward to meeting people my own age and having a normal life for once. But that does not mean that I'll never be acting again. It was always my dream (to go to university) before I did the films and so I don't see why I should change it."

In this first video from AP, Emma talks about how the movie is a romantic comedy.

This and That
We have several small updates, so I thought I would put them all together.

Gallery Update: For Emma's Burberry campaign, I've added the new promotional images from Burberry's site, some more behind-the-scenes images (thanks Dao Tu Thao), and some higher res versions from the photoshoot. I've also added quite a few pics from the 2007 Bravo shoot. I don't think there are any unseen ones, but we didn't have them before. Thanks to Rebecca for sending them in.

A new promo photo with Emma from Half-Blood Prince appeared. Credit: Occlumencia. I've also added several other recent HQ promos to the gallery (thanks Ana for the reminder).

In an article in the LA Times Emma talks about her relationship with JK Rowling

"We talk, we e-mail each other now," she said, nodding toward her laptop and that morning’s missive from the woman who is arguably the world’s most famous living young-adult author. "I must admit I still feel quite intimidated by her," Watson said. "Not because she is actually intimidating, but because I admire her so much, and we have all been such mad fans of the books and her and everything." "I just really want her to like me," Watson said, sounding a bit like the insecure overachiever Hermione. "I’m always really keen to tell her how I feel, and maybe it’s a bit much. She is so down to earth and funny and witty....... I definitely see Hermione in her. She’s genuine and brilliant."

and how she'll remember this part of her life:

"I will look back on this part of my life and I know it will be special, but it used to be that if I ever had a bad review or someone said, 'Oh, she is too this,' or 'She's too that,' I got upset about it," Watson said. "Now what I have worked out is that it would actually be physically impossible to be perfect for everyone. Everyone has a distinct idea in their head of what each character is like. So I've kind of had to lower my standards. I can't be perfect for everyone. J.K. thinks I'm perfect, and that's good enough for me."

Film Review Online has an interview with Emma. She talks about Hermione and her most memorable moment of Half-Blood Prince.

Emma is on OMG! Yahoo's list of teen hotties.  Thanks Bianca.

Cosmogirl featured Emma as a Celeb Backstory, with a series of pictures of Emma over the years . Thanks Tanvi.
