About working for People Tree (2010): "I haven't had any fashion training but I am an artist. I paint, I draw and I had a great team to work with. I designed the collection for myself and my friends; they're the sort of thing we wear - the difference being they're ecologically sound. I became completely engrossed. I tried on the clothes, I worked on the catalogue and my friends and I were models. We all worked for free."

The Tale of Despereaux is just one day away!

A new picture of Emma is featured in an article on USA Today. Emma talks about keeping herself normal, how her wealth really hasn’t sunk in yet, but that it will let her choose film roles she likes, and not because she needs to. “My life will not be motivated by money. I will never do a film because they’re going to pay me a certain amount of money. It’s liberating. It means that I can hopefully make great choices.” Read the whole article here.

Moviefone has an interview that’s a little different. Emma talks about paparazzi, school, Natalie Portman, and more. Thanks to bravelittletoaster for both links.

Another video, this one from Mymovies.net.

Emma was interviewed on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour with Jane Garvey. They talk about working on Tale of Despereaux, her relationship with Chanel (she is NOT the new face of Chanel, are you listening major media?), and her future plans. She will start at university in September, but she does not intend to put acting on hold completely, saying there is time during breaks to do smaller films. Thanks to Danielle for the tip.

There are a couple new articles online about Tale of Despereaux that are a good read. In an interview on Canada.com, Emma talks about audtioning for the role, her character Princess Pea, and what it was like doing a voice performance.

In an article on the Sudbury Star TTOD producer Gary Ross had high praise for Emma.

“I think she is the most talented young actress of her generation. I think of everybody coming out of the Harry Potter movies, with all due respect to them, she’s the one you go, ‘Oh my god, this is a classic movie star and will have a very, very long career.’

“She has a Kate Hepburn grace or Grace Kelly countenance, in terms of her style and bearing and how articulate she is, and at the same time she is a hell of a good actress. She’s somebody who has complete control over what she’s doing and amazing facility. The girl’s 18 years old.

“You’re seeing someone who’s going to be an enormous movie star. You’re seeing someone who just brings so much craft and dignity in what she does and approaches it. Look at her contemporaries … and look at how this girl is handling both her career and her attitude toward her craft, and how in control of her craft she is. I’ve worked with a lot of actors and she can make complex adjustments on a dime. She has tremendous control. This is a very sophisticated actress already.”

We’d like to thank Smiling Emma for selecting us as their December Site of the Month.

Showbiz Tonight, MTV Interview // 13 December 2008

The television program Showbiz Tonight had a “First Look” at Half-Blood Prince yesterday. There might be a little new footage, but I’m not sure. I can’t remember everything I’ve seen so far. 😛

In an interview with MTV Emma said she was “Thrilled” with the ending of Deathly Hallows and the marriage of Hermione and Ron, “I was thrilled really. Ron was the right person for her to be with. I think it was amazing that they had kids. It was perfect.” She says the scene she is most eager to film is “The scene that really touched me is Ron’s betrayal of Hermione, him leaving her. There’s that wonderful scene where he comes back and Hermione just launches herself at him and starts hitting him and is uncontrollably angry at him and disappointed in him for abandoning her. I’m looking forward to that because it felt very real when I read it.”

New scan: Emma is once again in the current issue of the German In Touch. Thanks to Charly for the scan, and translations.

Left caption: He’s all Ears. Attention, the huge eavesdropper attack! But the little mouse “Desperaux” has his ears super under control. And that’s why he can make a curtsy with a kiss on the hand, perfect in form. Emma feels complete astetic about the charm offensive. The actress lend Princess Pea her voice in the movie. Emma says about the little dame: “She’s a real little princess. Captious and a little bitchy…”
Right caption: Kiss the hand! At the premieres of “The Tale of Desperaux” the main character kneels down in front of Emma.

Gallery updates: I’ve added more pics from the Tale of Despereaux premiere. We now have 303 mostly HQ pics. I’ve also added the tagged low quality images from the Rankin photoshoot. I am still hoping we well get HQs of these.

Tribute Movies Interview // 12 December 2008

Tribute Movies interviewed Emma about Tale of Despereaux and they have a video online. Click on the image to view it on their site.

Outtakes from the Sunday Times Style magazine photoshoot have appeared online but only small tagged copies. We’re waiting for HQs, but here is a preview montage thanks to Armin.

Emma on Today // 11 December 2008

Emma was the guest elf on Today’s annual Holiday Toy and Gift Drive on Wednesday morning. She collected some gifts and then talked briefly to the hosts. The video is on youtube but you can see it in better quality on Today’s website here.

I have this captured in HD except for the first several seconds. I am trying to blend other footage with my capture to make a whole video and will post it later.

Jo has updated Emma’s site with pictures from the Sunday Times Style magazine. These are photos, not scans of the magazine, and they look really good. I’m still hoping we will see HQ pics from the photoshoot someday.
