Emma Watson has updated her official site and confirms that she will be attending Brown University. She also talks about that rumored helicopter ride 😛

I just checked her official website and the last update was her EMS message on the 10th of August. I don't see any update about her attending brown anywhere on the site.

The update on EWO disappeared for a while. I don’t know why. So I removed the update here. It is now back on EWO, so it’s back here now too.
I see it now. It's in the news section, not the EMS section. Very nice message from Emma. 🙂 Best wishes to her in university and I hope she really enjoys her experience.

Wow I'm very happy to hear she's going to Brown. It's a very good school and she's a very bright girl, she definitely deserves it. As for the E.M.S it isn't working for me either. That section is a little funky because I click on it and it reloads twice, maybe that's just me, but I know I'm not the only one who doesn't see the new E.M.S.

Tree, I think that was a little unnecessary. People are allowed to go up and meet Emma, it's what regular college students do; we chat, we mingle, we hang out, etc. She wants the normal college life. And who cares if they're fans or not? They can still be friends of hers.
The update is/was in the news section, not the EMS section. To be honest, I don’t know if Emma can update the site herself, or if she has to send it to someone who updates the site information.

@tree and those who replied to tree: I think it is ok for Princess17's friends to chat to Emma. It would be a very lonely college experience for Emma if nobody talked to her. Having said that, if people are going to approach her and chat to her, it should be as a normal college kid, and not "omg what was it like to work with michael gambon?" "is dan really that laid back in real life?" "can you get tom felton's autograph for me?" etc. Plus, why should Princess17's friends have to be fans to be Emma's friend? Of course we all feel like we should be her friend because we're so dedicated to her, but I bet you Emma's best friends are those who knew her before she was famous or didn't really pay any attention to her movie career. I think basing a friendship upon fanship is probably a really bad way to go. I know if I went to Brown and ended up in her orientation group or one of her classes, I'd pretend not to know much about her. It would be creepy to have people wanting to be your friend who already know half your life story, even if it is public knowledge. In other news: 6 hours later and I still can't see Emma's update 🙁
I completely agree with you Leah. College is about getting to know different people even if they're famous. I know if I ever went to Brown and met her at orientation or had a class with her I would pretend not to know much about her too, I mean none of us could fully know Emma so it would be something new. I'm also sure people would respect her privacy and not bombard her with questions about Harry Potter.
I like how Emma politely addresses wacky rumors about her. When she said "I wish I could be in three places at once", it reminded me of Hermione in Prisoner of Azkaban. I already knew that helicopter thing was nonsense. Even the people who started the rumor took back their statements and admitted their mistakes. Like I said, I hope Emma enjoys her experience at Brown and I wish her the best. Nice to hear from her as always. 🙂

Everything is up and running on her site now. Gee, I wonder what it must be like to be in your dorm room, books on your desk, kids coming and going out in the halls, and decide to take your laptop, open it up and say a few words to literally millions of people, scattered around the globe, who admire you. And then get back the day's assignment in English or French. It's just so far beyond normal experience that I find it absolutely fascinating even to think about. Go Emma!
I couldn't resist taking a peek at one of the photos of her in line at school, and I have to say I've hardly ever seen her looking happier. In her college outfit…shorts, t-shirt, sneakers, she looks absolutely collegiate, and has a smile that lights up the entire area around her. This is all so nice. Aren't we lucky to get her over here in the US! 🙂
