About acting (2009):"I had been doubting if I wanted to act for the rest of my life. The reason is because I was only nine when I started. They went to my school, and they picked me. I auditioned and I got the role. I never went to acting school, I didn't know I wanted to be an actress. It's amazing, but just because it happened doesn't mean that it's the right fit for me. It took me awhile to decide what to do. And now I think it is. I come from a family of lawyers and academics, we didn't watch movies in my house. I didn't know who Gary Oldman or Maggie Smith were. So I educated myself watching thousands of movies. Now I'm passionate about it."

A great video from E! Online of Emma at the MTV Awards. Emma talks about her outfit, the MTV Awards, ‘Perks’ trailer, High School, and more.

A short article accompanies the video. Emma mentions her excitement for Harry Potter fans to see Perks of Being a Wallflower. She says,“I think Harry Potter fans will love it because it has so much heart, like the Harry Potter stories do. I feel like it’s the perfect transition from Harry Potter to kind of a more adolescent movie. It’s a little bit of an older tone. It’s darker.” Emma also briefly discussed her American accent.     Well she really got the American way of speaking. She says ‘Like’ so many times, it’s great seeing her change that way

    That must have been a challenging acting experience for her.. now that I think about it. Since obviously 1) shes not American, playing an American in one of our high schools and 2) she didn’t have really anything near the same type of experience. I’m excited to see the movie 🙂

    being very in to fashion, emma knows very well what’s she’s wearing and the way she acted at the video is just insincere, like she’s putting up a show and trying to look like it isn’t very important to her.. also i can’t see how the change of her talk is a positive thing. Talking more american and moving away from herself.. bit dissapointing
