Emma to Star in ‘Your Voice in My Head’

Emma Watson is again set to star in the Emma Forrest memoir Your Voice in My Head according to The Hollywood Reporter. Emma had been attached to the Warner Bros. project with David Yates directing, but Yates dropped out due to conflicting schedules and Emma followed. Emma signed on again after the project took an independant track with Francesca Gregorini (Tanner Hall, The Truth About Emanuel) directing.

Emma will portray Emma Forrest, “a young woman living the fast life in New York who attempts suicide before being saved by a selfless psychiatrist who is hiding the fact he is dying of cancer”(THR). Filming is scheduled to start November 4 in New York City.

There have been quite a few stories this year about Emma up for roles or losing out to roles, along with Del Toro once again delaying Beauty that I was honestly a little nervous, not only is Emma getting back to work, but it’s with a script that she genuinely loves.

Nice. 🙂 I’ve read the book and can’t wait to see Emma doing it. It would be difficult for a seasoned actor to pull off but I think she will be great. In fact I guess she is a seasoned actor. lol

    New project…woohoo 🙂

  7. Tara Ashley says:

Seems like a great role and baity project, but the director of this is horrible.

I do wish Emma the best though.

    • Brian says:

Sofia Coppola isn’t that great of a director either but people claimed to love The Bling Ring, IMO all the hard work that the entire cast did was ruined by her style and direction.

If you haven’t read the book yet I suggest you do. We are going to see a whole new Emma with this real life character she’ll be playing. For ex….cutting, suicide attempts, abortion, multiple abusive relationships. This is really going to have Emma reaching deep to achieve the level of pain that Emma Forrest went through.

    • D-one says:

I haven’t read the book yet, but I just read somewhere that she’s gonna play a bipolar and an emotionally unstable character. If that’s correct, this is gonna be challenging for Emma, but I still think she’ll do it OK.
This is an opportunity to make the difference, but I’m not sure that this project has a proper director…
Anyway, my best wishes for you Emma, I know for sure you will perform a brilliant leading role! 🙂

I can’t wait to see who gets cast as GH. I hope it’s either
Taylor Kitsch or Kit Harington. It depends on how close the script follows the book but imagine Emma cutting, practicing bulimia, having a string of unhealthy relationships with men, an abortion, and don’t forget the suicide attempt that led her to a stay in a mental hospital. This film has Academy Award written all over it. it’s going to be dark but also there is light at the end of the tunnel in the form of the psychiatrist who saved her and it is a survivor story with herself as her own worst enemy. 🙂

I’m glad that Emma was able to return to this role, as I know it’s a project she really wants to be a part of and she was likely disappointed that she had to drop it before. I guess it goes to show a delayed project isn’t always a bad thing, since it allowed Emma to come back to it.

Funny how she’s playing Emma again, but this time a different Emma :).
