David Yates has confirmed reports that he is dropping out of Your Voice in my Head, the film that would have reunited the director and Emma Watson. Citing personal reasons, Yates said “Unfortunately, due to conflicting schedules and ongoing commitments in the narrow window I was hoping to make this film, it has become no longer possible for me to direct ‘Your Voice in My Head.’ I am sincerely sorry to be leaving such a fantastic project, and I wish producer Alison Owen and everyone involved the very best for what I am sure will be a distinctive film.”
No replacement for Yates has been announced but it is likely the project will continue since the producers were unwilling to postpone filming until Yates was available. Emma is reportedly still lined up for the lead role.
Well even still this film sounds good. I can see awards lined up for this film. I always imagined emma in these type of roles. I think she is one of those actors who can can really pull emotion and leave a lasting impression. I see her middle aged and doing the best in the film industry. I just have a feeling in her middle years she’ll really grow in the industry.
Not a problem for Emma if Yates is out; I bet they’re in contact and she can count on him whenever she needs a good advice. Both are film-industry involved people so they’ll see each other in future for sure 🙂

Very disappointed to hear that Yates had to pull out. I hope they are able to find a replacement soon.
This seems like it would be an amazing role for Emma, so I hope that this project is still going to happen and she still plays the role.
Warner was afraid to lose Emma Watson. That’s why they refused to accept Yates’s request to delay shooting. Emma should leave too, in solidarity with Yates. It was him who wanted her in the film.
