Emma sure is busy! Emma will be collaborating with Rupert Everett and Colin Firth on an Oscar Wilde biopic. Everett will be playing Wilde in “The Happy Prince” he will direct the film and wrote the script as well. The script is said to be a comedy with tragic undertones. He was quoted describing the plot as,” the Irish playwright’s final days as he observes his own failure with ironic distance and humor.” Everett has been involved in many different Oscar Wilde projects over the years. Colin Firth has been cast as Reginald “Reggie” Turner, Wilde’s close friend. There is no word yet on what Emma’s part will be, but keep your eyes out for updates! Shooting of “The Happy Prince” is set for Summer 2013 in Germany.
Update: Well folks, it looks like we were all fooled again. Unfortunately, it looks like my information was incorrect. I did read more than one article and tried to get as much information as possible. It seems to be that Emily Watson is the one involved here and not our beloved Emma. There is not a lot of information out yet about “The Happy Prince” so we can all still hope!! Sorry for the confusion. Let this be lesson that no one is perfect. I will keep you posted if anything changes!
I’ve heard this is Emily Watson’s project not our Emma, we have to wait for real news for things to clarify.
I’ve read a few different articles that said Emma Watson and wrote specifically as in Emma Watson from Harry Potter. I felt that was good enough to be posted. I will speak to Dook and see how he feels.
I dunno Arie, we shall see if it’s our Em on the project or Emily, I’m curious.

The Irish something are the first one who talked about Emma for this project and they based their article on Variety’s. They even gave the link to Variety’s article and it’s written Emily, not Emma 😉
With no source it’s difficult to believe any good news with ther name on it.

That is friggin awesome! I adore both Everett, Firth and Wilde and their collaborations on previous Wilde-movies have been astounding (The Importance of Being Earnest is one of my favorite movies). I’m so jealous of Emma, it’ll be so much fun to see how this turns out 🙂

There are a lot of articles out there. I read through a ton of them. There are a good number that say Emily and a good number that say Emma. The ones that I had read through were reliable. I would never have posted this if the sources weren’t. There is very little information about the movie out there so the mistake is understandable. I have made the update to the post. It would be wonderful though if we heard it really is Emma who is involved. Again, do not think we don’t read through reliable sources. What happened here was just a mistake. We all make them!
We all make mistakes. So it shouldn’t be a big deal about it. Besides it is probably all a rumor anyways. I am looking forward to hearing more about this in the future.
Ahaha. I remember the days when Emma would complain about being called Emily 😛 I knew something wasn’t right though, she just finished TWO movies…
It kind of annoys me as well, along with Emma being confused for actresses sharing her first name. I don’t understand how they can keep making that error. All it does is just get me excited when I hear she’s doing another project only to find out it’s someone else.
And she’s actually only done Bling Ring recently. She finished up Perks filming last year and won’t be starting Your Voices In My Head until this summer(hopefully this is still the case and they find a new director soon.

Yes,it must of been a typo. It is more likely it is Emily Watson not Emma,since Emma has just finished two movies and is soon going to be busy promoting Perks as well as other things. I highly doubt Emma is in this movie.
