About what Perks meant to her (2011): "I just finished The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which was just the most incredible experience. I had the best six weeks. I'm very excited about that movie. Having an experience like that outside of Harry Potter is what really convinced me that acting really is what I should be doing. I'm excited about the idea of being an actress now in a way that I wasn't so sure of before."

London Premiere Afterparty

Friday, July 8th, 2011

The afterparty for the London Deathly Hallows Premiere was held at the Old Billingsgate Market bar. Emma was there, after changing from her Oscar de la Renta gown into an Ellie Saab dress. From other pictures it appears most of the cast were there, but all the pictures with Emma were solo.

Deathly Hallows Part 2 World Premiere

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

Emma Watson and most of the cast members attended the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 premiere in London today. The weather was brilliant, and Emma was gorgeous. Who could ask for more. Well, we could ask for more premieres, but this was it. The very last world premiere of Harry Potter 🙁

Just before the screening of the movie began, the three Davids, the trio, and Jo made some very emotional ‘farewell’ speeches to Harry Potter. I know there is still the New York premiere, and various talk shows and other press, but this speech by Emma really says it’s the end for me.

You need the Flash to see this video.

“I want to say thank you to David Barron and David Heyman, you’ve both been like fathers to me. David Yates, you taught me so much more than… I’m so lucky to take everything that you’ve taught me with me. Steve Kloves, you gave Hermione the voice that I so hoped she would have and I’m so grateful, she is every bit as strong and beautiful and great as she is in the book and I’m very grateful. Jo [starts to break down], thank you for writing these amazing books and and for being…. [starts to cry] that’s it, I’m gone. such a rolemodel to me in real life. Thank you to Rupert for making me laugh and being such a great brother and thank you to Dan, same thing. I will miss you so much. And thank you to Warner Brothers for making these films the way they should have been made and giving them the support that they needed and we went out as we should’ve done, on a bang and I’m so proud to have been a part of this, thank you so, so much. Thank you to everyone here who came, you are the most wonderful fans in the world and it’s just such a privilege. Thank you so, so much.”

A good interview with STV. About Hermione: “She’s the thing I’ll miss the most, just getting to be her every day, she’s such a great character in such a great role, [and] just getting to be part of the Harry Potter world,”
STV again, with Emma and Rupert. Most of Emma’s bits were in the previous one. A few SPOILERS.

Deathly Hallows Press Conference and Photocall

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

Today was the final London press conference and photocall for Harry Potter. Emma Watson and just about every one of the principal cast and crew were there, including Rupert Grint, Bonnie Wright, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, Tom Felton, James and Oliver Phelps, Domhnall Gleeson, Jason Isaacs, Ralph Fiennes, Natalia Tena, David Thewlis, Nick Moran, Michael Gambon, Robbie Coltrane, Warwick Davis, Julie Walters, Helen McCrory, director David Yates, and producers David Heyman and David Barron. Noticably absent was Daniel Radcliffe. A shame he couldn’t make it. We have a selection of photos for you to look at in the gallery, and I’ll have some highlights from the conference up later.

Mugglenet did a live transcript of the conference. Below are Emma’s comments as they wrote them.

so used to having gaps between films, after this last film ended she started getting an itch like “ok i’m ready to go back now” and then i realized i wasn’t. that was the moment i came to terms. it’s difficult to process.

last two films, emma found herself doing something she’s never done in her life. example: had no idea what it’s like to be tortured, or playing a hermione 20 years older.. what’d it be like to say bye to her children. found herself in positions she couldn’t imagine herself being in. also physically.. huge amounts of stunts of running around. big learning curve.

fans seem to think they’re true to the books. there’s no better reward than that.

question for emma: compare the kisses between ron and harry. and would you like to have kissed tom felton. media laughs.

this is really difficult. i need to be diplomatic. well dan isn’t here so it makes it slightly easier. kissing harry for that scene.. it was a figment of ron’s imagination so the kiss had to be passionate. i was half naked and covered in silver paint so that was pretty awkward.

kissing rupert was also awkward. we had just been soaked by a giant bucked of water. we had to pretend it wasn’t coming. both dan and rupert were complete gentleman. *sighs* it’s hard to put our personal history to one side. i don’t think they don’t mind me saying.. kissing gets quite boring if you do it multiple times.

jason reminds emma: and tom?

no, i don’t think i would. my 12 year old self yes. 21 year old self.. no.

Emma in Premiere, Bravo, Cinemania

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

First, a quick mention of MTV’s new movieblog, NextMovie, where they are doing “15 Days of Potter” with new features every day. They are currently running a poll on who fans think will be the most successful after HP. They are also doing something they call My CeleBFF, where they ask fans to send in photos of themselves with members of the HP cast and they’ll feature it on their site. You can read more about it here.

Now let’s take a break from videos with a few scans.

Premiere magazine from France has a Harry Potter special in their next issue. They have a few preview pages on their website, including this one of Emma, with another photo by Mariano Vivanco. That’s a rather different look. The issue comes out tomorrow. If anyone can send us some scans we’d appreciate it.

Bravo Magic and Cinemania from Hungary both have Harry Potter features in their current issues. Thanks to Em-Watson Extra for sending them in.
