About OotP (2007): "I think it's the best so far, it's my favourite so far. Azkaban, I think, was my favourite one, and then this one's really kind of... I'm just so pleased with it and David Yates got the best out the three of us so far."

Interview from the OotP Paris press juncket // 21 January 2008

Hey EW.netters,

Today we have an interview from the OotP press juncket in Paris for you (thanks to our friends from HPDeluxe): Emma and Rupert talk about their characters’ evolution throughout the years so it’s quite different from the usual promo interviews 🙂

I can’t swear we never posted the video before, but I’m pretty sure we never had it in such good quality… Anyway, just click here to watch it!

Have a nice day,

HBP Set Report Teaser // 20 January 2008

Heeey Emma fans! 🙂

Thanks to our Order partner TLC for letting us know that the teen magazine Tigerbeat has a new set report teaser from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince! While the actual set report comes later, you can read a bit about it right here. And yes of course Emma is mentioned! 😆

Hope everyone had a great and fun weekend!

New music video contest // 18 January 2008

Hey EW.netters,

As you all know, 2007 was a very exciting year for Emma fans: OotP was released and Emma starred in her first non-HP movie. Now, 2008 has just started, and while we’re impatiently waiting for HBP and The Tale of Desperaux, we thought we’d take a look back on the characters Emma has played so far, namely Hermione & Pauline. And what better way to do this than to organise a music video contest? 🙂

Here are the rules:

your music video cannot be about Emma and thus cannot contain clips or pictures of Emma as herself (interviews, events…).
– your music video must be either about Hermione or Pauline. One video cannot be about both characters.
– but the good news is that you can submit one (and only one!) video per category. In other words, one contestant can send us up to two music videos: one about Hermione and one about Pauline, but not two about Hermione or two about Pauline.
– your music video can contain clips from the movies (and in the case of Harry Potter, clips from the Queen’s birthday special), promo pictures and stills.
– once your music video is ready, upload it (sendspace, megaupload, rapidshare, filefactory…) and send us the download link (emmawatson.contest@gmail.com). Do not send us a YouTube link!
– you should also send us a little text about what inspired you to make the video, what you like about the character, why you chose the song you used…
– the winners (3 for each category) will be announced in our #17 Watson Weekly issue (not the next one but the one after) and the #1 winners in both categories will receive a beautiful piece of Art featuring Hermione and made by our talented staff member Amy.
– last but not least, if you have any question, don’t hesitate to send me an email or a PM (I’m Neve on the boards)!

EDIT: sorry, I totally forgot to tell you when the deadline is 😉  Well, you have until March 18th (two months!) to send us your music videos.

Good luck to everybody! 🙂

New Layouts // 17 January 2008

A site update today. 😉

I’ve added two new layouts made by Jasmine and Maud. You can switch from one to another or back to Julie-Ann’s  here, or using the layout links near the bottom of the column on the side. We’re going to try this for a while and see how it works, and how people like it, and then we may add more.

I know there are still some pages that need to be adjusted to work with all the layouts. I’ll be working on that.

NOTE: You must allow cookies for emma-watson.net or this will not work. I believe IE7 will block these by default, but I think this should work. Click on Tools / Internet Options / Privacy tab and then click on the Sites button. Enter emma-watson.net for Address of website, then click Allow. Click Ok.

Movie Magic 2008 // 16 January 2008

The current issue of Movie Magic has a large feature on Harry Potter and the trio and thanks to ICM (www.rupert-grint.us) we have scans of many of the pages. Much of the information is taken from other sources and not new, but it’s still an interesting article. Click the thumb to find it in our gallery.

Scans, video and more // 8 January 2008

A couple more scans for you today. The first is from Twist, sent in by Frederique, courtesy of Miley Fans Gallery. The second is from the Russian Joy Rus back in 2006, sent in by Elmira. Not sure what it’s about, but it mentions Emma. Thank you both for sending these in.

Update: it says “Laetitia Casta, Mena Suvari and Emma Watson prefer to wear the Japanese silks.” on the Joy Rus scan. Thanks Lesha.

Emma is #22 on IMDBs STARmeter Top 25 for 2007, a ranking of their most popular searches.
22. Emma Watson (Last year: #16) Hermione Granger was back with a vengeance in this summer’s Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and the young actress weathered a tabloid tempest that said she might quit the franchise (no worries — she won’t).

Dan is also on the list at 17. Thanks to Tayna for the tip.

Hannah found an OotP junket video with Emma and Rupert I hadn’t seen before. It’s heavily dubbed in Spanish so it’s hard to hear what they are saying. You can view it here. Thanks Hannah.

Update: We now have a translation of the video thanks to MikeWatson on the forums.
