About boys and girls in GOF (2005): "What Mike (Newell) is really trying to capture is the terrible awkwardness that you get, the really awkward teenage stage where girls and boys are interested in each other and neither of the sex does quite know how to be. It's really funny, because the girls get up and they're really ready to go and dance and the guys are like... yeah, not getting up and dancing. It's good, really, it was good fun to do."

Ten Years

Ten years. Ten years since Emma-Watson.net opened. Well, I should say version 2. There may still be some fans who remember Jo and the original EW.net. She passed it on to a new team and it has been going ever since. Our 10 year anniversary.

A lot has changed since we opened. Emma continued acting but has left Hermione behind, branching out into a variety of roles and film genres, made a mark in the fashion world, and works as a UN ambassador to further gender equality. The site has changed as well. All the original team members have moved on, except for me. Others have come and gone. Fans too have come and gone. Ten years ago this place was just jumping with excitement. Not many people are interested in fan sites these days. Will fan sites even exist five years from now?

Thank you to all the fans and staff, past and present, who have been the heart and soul of EW.net. – dook

UK Trailer for The Colony

Emma Watson and Daniel Brühl’s thriller Colonia is being released as The Colony in the UK. The film is in theaters and On Demand July 1. View the new trailer below.

Set amidst the Chilean coup of 1973, The Colony begins by depicting the masses who are out on the street, protesting against General Pinochet. Amongst them are Daniel (Daniel Brühl) and Lena (Emma Watson), a young couple who, like many others, get arrested by Pinochet’s secret police for producing propaganda against the regime. Following his arrest, Daniel finds himself trapped in a secret interrogation camp located beneath the infamous Colonia Dignidad; a German sect under the leadership of the notorious, charismatic and unflinching Paul Schäfer (Michael Nyqvist). Presenting itself as a charitable mission, the Colonia is in fact a place of brutality and terror that nobody has ever escaped from. Desperate to rescue her boyfriend, Lena infiltrates the cult and witnesses the true darkness of Schäfer’s regime before she attempts a dramatic escape that puts both their lives on the line.
