The first pictures of Emma in costume as Sam on the set of Perks of Being a Wallflower have appeared. There has been speculation on whether Emma would wear a wig, but it looks like all natural Emma to me.

Empire Magazine has put up a new photo of Emma on their Ultimate Celebration preview page. Strange. Only Emma’s picture has changed, the other cast photos are the same as before. Well, I do think this is a better picture than the last one, more fun. The next issue of Empire Magazine will have a 36 page special feature on Harry Potter, with new photoshoots, on the set images, stories and interviews with all the cast. The issue goes on sale May 26. We’ll try to have scans up as soon as we can.
Speaking of scans, we have a bunch to post. Emma sent us an old scan of Teen People. Kok Yan sent us a couple scans from the Malaysian Cleo, and Tania sent in US Weekly scans.
And from Elmira we have scans of Elle, Glamour, Top Cinema, InStyle, Total DVD, Total Film, Viva Beauty and a hi res scan from Marie Claire.
We have 6 new outtakes from last year’s photoshoot for Marie Claire by the photographer Tesh. Only MQs unfortuneately. Thanks to IHW.
Sorry, images removed.
The first images of Emma from the set of “Perks of Being a Wallflower” have appeared. The pictures show Emma relaxing during a break in filming. I don’t know if Emma was filming and in costume, or if she was just hanging out on the set.
Update: The pictures have been deleted. Early sources indicated these were taken on the set of Perks. But I can’t be certain that is true, and I don’t have access to the original source or images which might provide the answer, so since there is a question I have decided to remove them. My apologies to our visitors and to Emma. – dook
The June calendar competition is now open.
We have more of the interview with Emma from Women’s Wear Daily. Thanks to Hermione for sending it in. Still looking for scans though if anyone gets this magazine.
At age 21, ingenue actress Emma Watson already boasts more than 10 years of filmmaking experience, and her maturity was plain in her latest project — Lancôme’s Trésor Midnight Rose, the women’s fragrance due out worldwide in September.
“I helped choose the color of the rose,” said Watson, who is a Lancôme ambassador, sitting in the Hôtel Ritz here early evening on Tuesday.
Midnight Rose is the latest addition to the Trésor franchise, which began in 1952 with the original scent of that name. A new version of Trésor came out in 1990, and 20 years later L’Oréal-owned Lancôme introduced Trésor in Love.
Midnight Rose’s juice, with notes including rose absolute, raspberry, jasmine, peony, black-currant bud absolute and pink pepper, was created with International Flavors & Fragrances’ Anne Flipo. Mario Testino photographed the advertising campaign.
“I was involved in the concept for the [ad] film and the tag line, ‘Catch my heart if you can,’” said Watson.
She had a hand, as well, in selecting the fragrance’s name and casting actor Cyril Descours for the campaign. Plus Watson suggested it glean inspiration from Jean-Luc Godard’s “Breathless.”
“The hat [in the ad] was my hat, which I bought at a flea market in Paris,” she continued. “I was very involved in the script. It’s been really fun for me.”
So has her appetite been whetted for directing someday?
“Absolutely. It’s funny, the guys at Lancôme were like, ‘You need to be directing, Emma.’ I had ideas about every aspect. I’m sure I drove them insane,” she said.
In excerpts from an interview in today’s Women’s Wear Daily, Emma revealed she is interested in an eco-friendly project with Lancôme. She has talked to executives about the possibility, but “It’s very early stages”.
More than just a face for Tresor Midnight Rose, Emma has been quite involved in the whole process. “It’s funny, the guys at Lancome were like, ‘You need to be directing, Emma.’ I had ideas about every aspect. I’m sure I drove them insane. I was involved in the concept for the [ad] film and the tag line, ‘Catch my heart if you can.’. She also “helped choose the color of the rose”, selecting the name, and even the hat she wore in the campaign. “The hat [in the ad] was my hat, which I bought at a flea market in Paris. I was very involved in the script. It’s been really fun for me.”
She added that signing on with Lancôme “feels like the right thing to have done.” The brand she said, “has this amazing heritage and this amazing history. It’s very well established but at the same time seems to be at the forefront.”
Emma also talked about her fashion sense. “I think less is more – less makeup, less accessories is better. I try to dress age-appropriately which isn’t actually that easy when obviously high-end clothing is designed for women who are older than I am. It’s a fine line to tread between looking smart and looking ready to go on a red carpet but also looking like I’m 21. It’s quite difficult.”
And, another batch of pictures from the release have come out from Lancôme.
Emma’s site has been updated with a new picture and details from Monday’s event at Paris’ Pavillion Gabriel. The party held by Lancôme in Emma’s honour was attended by hundreds of guests, including the photographer Mario Testino who shot the ad campaign, and Emma’s ‘co-star’ French actor Cyril Descours.
Testino talked about working with Emma, “I’ve watched Emma grow up. She was a little girl when I first worked with her, then I shot her for Burberry, then British Vogue, then Lancôme. The great thing about Emma is that she’s a chameleon; she can communicate anything you ask.” The interview also revealed that Testino will be shooting Emma for the July cover of American Vogue.
Emma talked about Trésor Midnight Rose, “I feel lucky to embody a fragrance I am so crazy in love with. I didn’t really like perfumes before because I thought they were heavy, but this one is really light and playful.” and about working with Lancôme, “Being a Lancôme ambassadress today is an immense pleasure and a great honour. For me, Lancôme is an authentic brand. It reflects elegance, class and style.”
A new black and white picture appeared on tumblr (see above) and Friday’s edition of Women’s Wear Daily has an article “Emma Watson Talks Film and Fragrances” which features a new behind the scenes picture (left) from the campaign. If anyone can get scans of the whole article, please send them in. According to @Lancomenews there will also be an interview in Glamour, so keep an eye out for that.
Finally, in her latest tweet, Emma says “Had such an amazing time in Paris with Lancome! Soon to start filming Perks of Being a Wallflower – can’t wait! Hope everyone’s ok xx”
Twitter is all abuzz, or should that be atwitter, with news about Lancome today. Beauty editors, make-up artists, and Emma Watson are gathering in Paris for a Lancome launch event. The first pictures have appeared, thanks to @alexandradejong and @deBeautydesk.
A number of pictures have appeared on twitter from the event, taken by attendees. I am surprised there were no professional photos taken, or maybe they just aren’t out yet. Here are a few of the twitter pics that weren’t quite so blurry.
