Emma on her Break from University

In a new interview, Emma Watson talks about the reasons behind her decision to take a break from University. She says school and work and all the commuting was too much, and that by trying to do too many things, she wasn’t able to give her best at any of them. So she took the semester to work on some projects and finish off Harry Potter, and then will “go back in September and try and focus a bit more on one thing at once”.

Emma also talks about doing theatre when she has the time to dedicate to it, saying it’s something she’s always wanted to do.

Emma talks Deathly Hallows, Hair and Perks

In a new interview promoting the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 DVD, Emma talked with BBC Breakfast about the film and the final days of filming.

Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is in the top 10 most successful films of all time, and Emma is proud of what she, Dan and Rupert did. “I was thrilled with the response, you know, I feel like it was a real step up from the other films. Obviously I’m incredibly proud of them too but I think in terms of the performances we gave and just what we were able to achieve, I was really, really proud of it.”

Emma also talked about Part 2. “It looks incredible. I mean I’m always biased but it looks amazing. The ending looks epic. It looks really great. I’m really excited.” Emma revealed she had to wear a wig for some reshoots of the epilogue, but doesn’t think anyone will notice in which shots.

Perks of Being a Wallflower begins filming next month, and Emma will be playing the role of Sam with an American accent. “It’s exciting to start branching out, having just done Potter for ten years. I’m making a film in May which I’m really excited about, which is set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I’ll be doing an American accent which will be a challenge. But it’s nice just to do something different.”
