In an interview appearing today in The Times, Emma talks about the kiss with co-star Rupert Grint for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. She also talks about the emotional end of Harry Potter, her friendship with Helena Bonham-Carter, and her future. Thank you to Laura for the scans.

“We’ve known each other for 10 years so it was a bit like kissing my sister,” he told the Mail on Sunday. “We were determined to get it right the first time, but our first try was a disaster because we both felt so self-conscious and we couldn’t stop laughing.”

That is without doubt the BEST article I have ever read on Emma. The Times is the only really excellent newspaper in Britain, and boy does it show, especially compared to all the rubbish we have been subjected to by the tabloid press. So well written! And the best part is that you get a real picture of Emma, as she presently is, and she clearly remains the decent, straightforward, honest, well adjusted and just plain lovable girl we all know her to be in fact. Great! 🙂 😛 😆

She says she hadn’t been to RADA, or had any other formal training, when she started out. It wasn’t until last year that she did take a course at RADA. And watch the language.

I know this is stupid but….in the article Emma says, that Hermione had never kissed anyone before. She kissed Krum, didnt she? Even Ginny says it in the book…hmmm 😕 🙂
@Laura, THANKS for the scans. I saw the article before but without the pix. I love the 2nd pic of Emma! I don't think I've ever seen anyone publish a pic of Emma with some of her family before. VERY NICE. I agree this is one of Emma's best interviews ever! 🙂 🙂 🙂

@Dalma–she might be talking about the movie timeline instead of the book timeline? the movie timeline started a Ron/Hermione storyline much earlier. Unless they include the Ginny/Ron argument where Ginny claims Krum and Hermione snogged in HBP? The part about Shopaholic-type scripts came off a bit snotty. I assume they're putting words and tone into her mouth, to some extent. Cameron Diaz only did indies after her big break to sharpen her claws properly. Jay is getting publicly acknowledged now. I guess because he's been around for quite a while now. I wonder if he'll be coming to the premieres with her?
I loved the interview! I think it was honest and very true to her, despite the remark about those "Shopaholic-type" films. I kind of agree with Emma, though; sometimes actors/actresses get noticed and then they just go with the flow to get more air time, without really digging too deep into the talent well. I like that Emma's got a definite sense of herself. I think it's pretty admirable. So, yay! I loved that interview 🙂 Oh, yeah. In a sort of half-response to nonentity, the person interviewing her had a very, uhm…distinct tone in her writing? She sounded very aggressive to me. So perhaps that's why that remark came off as snotty.
Another favorite interview for me. The last two paragraphs were very emotional. Also, most of those "Shopaholic-type" films ARE badly written. >_> *flees*
Emma seems very emotional in this interview. I loved the part where she spoke of Helena. Once again, I am glad that she wants to focus on her education more than anything. I hope she gets/got into the school she wanted. Emma looks gorgeous in the pics. And Rupert is one lucky son of a *****!!! Oh well. Maybe some day I will have the same luck. Maybe.
I saw on TF1 the thing about HP but there wasn't emma (or she was in the 15 1rst minutes that i missed…)

130671 i said : i watched it. But i missed the first 15 minutes, and didn't see emma, so i thought she wasn't in (as dook wasn't sure she was gonna be in the video) But i saw in the latest post that she is in the video, but the interview is during the begining of the vid, during the part i missed.
