About acting (2009):"I had been doubting if I wanted to act for the rest of my life. The reason is because I was only nine when I started. They went to my school, and they picked me. I auditioned and I got the role. I never went to acting school, I didn't know I wanted to be an actress. It's amazing, but just because it happened doesn't mean that it's the right fit for me. It took me awhile to decide what to do. And now I think it is. I come from a family of lawyers and academics, we didn't watch movies in my house. I didn't know who Gary Oldman or Maggie Smith were. So I educated myself watching thousands of movies. Now I'm passionate about it."

New Half-Blood Prince Clip, and Media Reminders

I thought it would be a good time for a reminder about upcoming events. New on the list is the David Letterman show, and Friday Night with Johnathon Ross on BBCAmerica.

July 3
Emma will be a guest on Friday Night with Johnathon Ross. It airs 10:35pm July 3 on BBC One in the UK. The program also airs on BBCAmerica in the US on July 17 and 18 (see below).

July 3 – July 31
HBOwill air a 13 minute inside look, Harry Potter and the Half-BloodPrince: HBO First Look, on different days and times during the month ofJuly. You can find a schedule of times here.

July 4
TheSpanish network CANAL+ will air a 42-minute long special on Half-BloodPrince Saturday, July 4. Host Cristina Teva will talk to stars DanielRadcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Jessie Cave, Bonnie Wright, TomFelton, Michael Gambon and director David Yates on the set.

July 5
Emma, Dan and Rupert are scheduled to appear on Rove in Australia. Looks like Emma will not be on the show, thanks Laura

July 7 UK Premiere
The London premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be broadcast live from Leicester Square on July 7th starting at 6pm GMT at this link.

July 8
Emma Watson will be a guest on the David Letterman show on CBS.

July 9 US Premiere
TheUS premiere will take place at Ziegfeld Theater, 141 West 54th Streetin New York City, Thursday July 9th. Celebrity arrival is at 6:00 pmET, with the screening starting at 7pm.

July 10
The Belgian channel VT4 will have a Half-Blood Prince special on 10 July at 11:05pm. Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are interviewed.

July 10 – 12
ABCFamily has another Harry Potter weekend. And again they are promisingbrand new looks at Half-Blood Prince. Hopefully it won’t be the same”new looks” we saw last year.

July 11 and 18
The Space channel in Canada will air Beyond the Screen: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince,a behind the scenes look at the movie, including interviews with EmmaWatson, Rupert Grint, and Daniel Radcliffe. The program will air in twoparts, on Saturday July 11 and Saturday July 18 at 10am ET.

July 17, 18
The episode of Friday Night with Johnathon Ross with Emma airs on BBCAmerica, July 17 at 8 and 11 pm, and again on July 18 at 1am.

    In the book, I heard that Harry shows his feelings for Ginny at the Quidditch celebration by kissing her in front of the whole team. They wouldn't have changed that, would they?

    I'll definitely be watching the Letterman appearance. But how come she never goes on any other american late night shows? I'd love to see her on Conan O'Brian or Jimmy Fallon. I'm not really a fan of Letterman. Oh well, thanks for the dates!

    Ugh I really wanted Emma to be on Rove with Dan and Rupert. Rove is the one of the best talk shows out there and seeing Emma in that atmosphere would have been awesome! Also I love when the Trio are interviewed together.
