Emma Watson has her first Vogue US cover in the July issue of the magazine. It’s quite a different look for Emma in these photos by Mario Testino. The issue hits newsstands on July 21. Thanks to Sassy and TFS for the MQ previews.

    AN SLAP IN SOME FACES!!!!

GORGEOUS!!!! THE BEST COVER OF THE YEAR!!
THE MOST IMPORTANT MAG IN THE WORLD!!!

  2. RupertFan says:

Best Cover of the Year?Well yes, maybe the Cover, but uhm maybe I will make Fans angry or whatever, but the Photoshoot,,just no.This is not Emma anymore.Even at a Photoshoot you should show something of yourself and I can’t see Emma at some Pics there. They overdid it with the Make Up and Styling

    • KE says:

Over did the styling etc? It’s vogue, what did you expect?
It’s all about the fashion really (though I hope they did a good interview as well but generally that comes second to the photoshoot). I think she looks great and it looks exactly how the best Vogue cover shoots look. Also the cover of the US version at 21, well done girl.

    • Laura says:

Vogue is mostly about the style and goes for fantasy with their photoshoots. I fully expected it to look like that and am quite impressed, she looks really good, she pulls it off (not easy!). I hope the interview is good as well and they don’t just have five pages of fashion (not that I dislike that). This I think oozes glamour and aims to appeal to regular readers of Vogue and the fashion industry as well as Emma fans.
Ps she’s rocking some gear from the Prada 2011 Fall Collection – nice!

      • RupertFan says:

Did you see other Covers of US Vogue? And I’m sure you saw the UK Vogue Cover back in December. They choosed that much Make Up for Emma and I don’t really know why.Even if Vogue is a Fashion Magazine,it doesn’t really mean they must style Persons with so much Make Up.I don’t think it’s a Secret that Emma don’t need Make Up and has Fans of her naturally Beauty.Naturally beauty is a part of Fashion and Styling too and I can’t see this at this Shoot. There is more make Up than Emma and like I said a Photoshoot needs something from yourself too or they could just take Pictures of Puppets and sorry, but this is the first Time I can’t see this at a Emma Shooting

        • Laura says:

Some photoshoots are intended to be arty, surreal and glamourous, to be a fantasy, not natural. Doing lots of photoshoots like Emma means you need to mix it up a bit and do some edgyer and different ones. As you said we all know Emma looks good in little make up and some shoots are intended to show that. This was however a glamourous, dressing up shoot. They wanted something completely different to the UK version.

          • Laura says:

The person who commented below me (Maggie) got the idea alright! I used some of your words, I hope that’s alright!

          • Arou says:

Don’t you think it must be a little fun to do artistic shoots ike that? Everybody knows Emma is a natural beauty,m but Vogue is the most popular high fashion magazine and people who buy the magazine don’t expect natural pictures, they expect Artistic ones. The photoshoot show that. I like Emma in a natural look but I like her artistics photoshoot. She looks like a women.

    • bonnie says:

“This is not Emma” Now, do you actually KNOW her? lol. But yea, like everyone is saying, it’s Vogue; a fashion magazine. Nuff said. It’s nice that she’s always doing something different each time. It tells us fans that she’s bold and confident. πŸ™‚ She looks like she’s having fun, also, so there’s nothing to complain or worry about!

    • Celia says:

What are you talking about? The purpose of a photoshoot is to take on a role. It’s very much like acting. Obviously it’s Emma, but it’s called creativity. And this is Vogue. It’s high fashion. It’s not Seventeen.

  3. Maggie says:

Rupertfan, no offense intended but do you buy Vogue or other fashion magazines? Tonnes of the photoshoots are like this, remember Emma’s one by Karl Lagerfeld? They often go the arty route.
I think it’s quite edgy and surreal and yet classy and really glamourous at the same time, like all the best vogue photoshoots. And it’s a Huge deal that she’s on the Cover!! I think she looks gorgeous, especially on the 3rd row, the 5th and 6th pics, stunning. All very Vogue miss Watson!

    • RupertFan says:

I have the Feeling you don’t really know what I mean. Can you see something from Emma at this?I saw other US Vogue Covers and Photoshoots and I could see something from the People at this, but where is something from Emma at this?I even read from someone in the Web,she wouldn’t have known this is Emma at the Pictures,if she wouldn’t know she is on the Cover for July, because of this much Make Up.I read Tweets on Twitter too,so I’m glad some People know what I mean.

Sorry to you all,but I just can’t see something from her.A Photoshoot is more than Make Up,there must always be something from yourself in it.my Friend had Photoshootings already and I never said you must agree, but if People don’t really think that this is not her best Shootng, accept it please

      • Tree says:

Meh, i thought the photos where Emma was smiling with the guy behind her, was her! Sooo don’t know what you’re going on about… Don’t forget she does do modelling and this is more a model photo shoot – even so, it’s Emma being different and changing it around some more, which she needs to do.

This is almost like saying what people said when Emma cut her hair ‘Oh she doesn’t look like Emma anymore.’ To be honest no one actually knows what Emma is like apart from what the media percieve (If you know what I mean). To say this photoshoot doesn’t even hold Emma’s personality is hardly reliable as the only people that truly know are her close friends and family.

I think Emma is the most down to Earth person out there, and if she didn’t like the idea of this – she could of always disagreed etc. She may of also wanted to change her look around because she IS natural. Personally, i love the shoot – she looks stunning and wears the look well, she is definately going to be the most successful from Potter and the fact that she has basically been on all the Vogue covers says something about her. πŸ™‚

        • Marie says:

I don’t really know where this says she will be the successful from Harry Potter.Maybe from Model, but from other Things we must see.I still think you will be surprised by Rupert Grint and Tom Felton

          • Tree says:

It doesn’t say in this. I personally think she is going to be more successful than anyone.. Yes everyone will be successful from Harry Potter if they chose good scripts and make the right decisions, I think it will be harder for them. But I just think Emma is going to go further than the others? But we’ll just have to wait and see.

        • Birgit says:

I totally agree with you. Fashion photoshoots are very often art. Emma being her naturally beauty self is really, really beautiful, but don’t you want something different sometimes? And what if this actually is Emma, but just a different side of her? She’s not gonna stay the little kid from Harry Potter forever.

      • Maggie says:

I think if people can’t see it’s Emma Watson from the pictures people need their eyes tested. She looks a bit different but it’s still clearly her. If your referring to seeing the soul or personality of the person in a photoshoot you will be very unhappy with most high fashion magazines. This photoshoot is intended to be artistic not natural. Not every photoshoot can have the same vibe of Emma standing there looking pretty in no makeup. Vogue see the shoots as art and Emma as portraying different looks and being a character, a lot of photoshoots are acting. So I think you need to lighten up about the make up and looking different, it’s a fantasy as someone said, she’s dressing up and being different.

  4. Jen says:

She looks stunning. I love that she’s done something so different here. She says that modeling has allowed for her to take on different personas, and I really see that in this shoot. She pulls the look off well.

  5. Arou says:

This photoshot is stunning. I know a lot of people don’t like it. As much as I am for the natural look and non-photoshopped pivctures in magazine, I love artistic pictures and this is very cool, very classy but burlesque in its own way. Emma fits in that. She always said she was very artistic. As much as she doesn’t waer much makeup daily, she must like these photoshoots. I love it and I hope she enjoyed it.

  6. Anonymous says:

idk about anyone else but after seeing the fourth pic i kinda want Emma to spike her hair into a mohawk just once for the heck of it.

  7. spencer says:

Harry POtter may be a part of her forever, but she is leaving it in the dust. just more gorgeous pictures!

  8. Tess says:

    wauwww, i love them!!
    the’re beautiful!

  9. shiningmoment says:

“This is not Emma” LOL, do people say this know Emma in real life? Like someone already said, Vogue is a high fashion magazine and some of their shoots are designed to be surreal and dramatic. Emma’s cover is just one of those shoots. If you don’t like high fashion yourself, that’s fine, you can keep your opinion but don’t take it as a fact that everyone should accept.

I love the cover. It’s amazing. The dark lip color doesn’t often do well on people but Emma pulls it very well and the makeup just shows how beautiful her feature is.

The best cover of Vogue US this year!

  10. shahrzad says:

wooooooooooooowww i love this picture so biutifull

  11. Hemma says:

amazing pictures!! she looks so different and older… love the knight-dress! πŸ˜€

  12. berlin says:

I like these pictures – they show Emma in a different way, but itΒ΄s still Emma πŸ™‚

  13. KS987 says:

MY GOD!!! O_O. I’ve said this a million times, but Emma is the sexiest woman alive. God is she beautiful. πŸ™‚ Amazing photoshoot and I can’t wait for the interview. When is it supposed to come out?

  14. Valentina says:

OMG she looks so different and definitely older! I love it, something different, refreshing…you go guuurll πŸ˜€

  15. lala says:

    emma is vary chaning

  16. Marie says:

Lol at People who think she will be the successfull from Harry Potter because of this.I still think Model could be the best Job for her,but for acting this doesn’t show something

    • Laura says:

Where are the people here saying she’ll be the most successful, most people are just admiring the shoot.

    • Celia says:

Considering all she’s done since the Potter films wrapped, I think there’s no doubt she will continue to be successful.
She’s filmed two movies and designed two fashion lines and also shot a campaign for Lancome. That’s impressive.

I think all the HP actors will continue to be successful, but there’s no denying that Emma gets the most buzz out of all the young actors.

  17. Jenny says:

bonnie and rupert fans are jealous!!!! LOLOL

  18. Nicole says:

Fab! Loving the hair and the styling is very original and it suits Emma to a 10 πŸ™‚ x x

  19. nibbles says:

The dark hair is interesting. With that look Emma could play a vampire. The pale skin and dark red lipstick. Her next role could be mrs. Dracula.

    • Arou says:

I Hadn’t though of that, but Yeah, it’s a very vampirist look, yet very interesting, too.

    • Celia says:

The dark lipstick looks AMAZING on her.
      But I don’t think it’s vampiristic.
      It’s more dramatic and womanly.

I would love to see her in a film set in the 20s or something.

  20. RedHead says:

    Oh My Goodness!
    Emma looks awesome!
    I wait for this session!
Emma looks better in the short hair than in long hair!
I love her hair but I have looooooong hair d^^b
I really like this photos ;**

    Emma’s fan from Poland!

  21. lona says:

    OH MY GOD…SHE LOOKS BEAUTIFULY.

  22. Joyce says:

Ok, I’m just going to clear something up here. Having read Vogue for quite some time, and having a large stack of magazines from about 2007 to the present, some of them UK, some of them US, some of them Vogue Italia, this is STUNNING. And what Vogue does on a cover shoot, is they consult with the person they’re shooting first. They will ask the person what they are comfortable with, and what direction they want to take the shoot in. They’ll give said person, in this case Emma, a few options to work with, and then LET THEM CHOOSE.
Vogue is not about who a celebrity is. If you look at Kristen Stewarts 2011 cover, or Sienna Millers 2007 September issue, d’you think any of them would dress like that in reality? Actually, no, screw that, because there is ALWAYS a grain of comfort to what a person wears on a fashion shoot, other wise the pictures would be TERRIBLE. And here you can plainly see Emma laughing and working the look, and playing her CHARACTER.
    Phew. Rant over.

  23. Jen says:

I love the cover. It’s GORGEOUS!!. The dark lip color doesn’t often do well on people but Emma pulls it very well and the makeup just shows how beautiful her feature is.

The best cover of Vogue US this year!

    YaY for Emma!

  24. wow she is so cool and hot.

  25. Birgit says:

Just because she’s wearing dark lipstick doesn’t automatically mean she has too much make up platered on her face(for a photoshoot). She wears it off, it suits her, it makes her look older and less ‘cute’. Emma is a perfect, beautiful natural beauty, but does that mean she can’t wear sexy lipstick? She’s a woman now, and this is a very feminine, sexy, vogue, gorgeous photo shoot. People aren’t used to seeing Emma like this, but I think they should get used to it quickly.
Besides, it is only a photo shoot and I personally think she definitely put a bit of herself in it, look at the two pics of her smiling.
This is a fashion magazine, an holy one, the bible for fashionista’s. Have you any idea how incredible it is for people to be on the cover? She looks so beautiful and she completely deserved it!
Don’t nag about her not looking like Emma. Again, it’s a photo shoot for a fashion magazine, not an portrait shoot.
The best cover of the year, if you ask me..

  26. emlover says:

well i don`t know emma is so sweet and these pics dont show her normal beauty
but any way she looks hot

  27. Kitty says:

emma looks so different!! she’s gorgeous and the cover is absolutely stunning!! can’t wait for the interview and gonna buy when it comes out!!

  28. fio says:

Wow, Emma is like a cameleon she can look so different each time, I love this photos! Mario Testino is amazing & he is peruvian :)) yayy!!

  29. Arou says:

I think the drama of the photoshoot mostly comes from the Dark hair. She never wore that haircolor before, it’s very different.

  30. Jamillah says:

Emma looks absolutely SENSATIONAL πŸ˜€ Gotta love her! :)))

  31. Celia says:

AMAZING cover and editorial! I can’t wait to buy the issue and read the interview!!! πŸ˜€ πŸ™‚

  32. Jen says:

    Perfect!!

  33. Cathe says:
