About being a teenager and having a job (2007): "It's really strange, trying to fit into both places. At school, I'm supposed to be a kid; and filming, I'm supposed to be an adult. I'm a teenager - I'm meant to be carefree and irresponsible and rebellious - but I have a quite serious job. Sometimes it's hard to deal with."

I just thought of something, I never read the book but remember reading somewhere that Sam’s character applied to Penn State, does she get in?

Sam had the option of two schools, safety school and Penn State, but she had to do a summer program for Penn State. The only thing that you know is that she went to the summer program. One can only assume she continued with Penn State. 🙂

Man, that would be mind blowing! The book was published in 1999, the same year Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky coached his last game (unexpectedly at the time) but was associated with the school for over a decade later. Last November the bomb dropped on them when a massive coverup with the school and Jerry revealed he was molesting young boys for at least 15 years and several people were involved in the coverup. So when the book was published in 1999 (even though the story takes place before), Charlie’s (who was molested as a kid in the story) friend Sam possibly went to the same school that in real life time was in the midst of a coverup of sexually molesting young boys. That’s like 3 degrees of WTF!!! My head hurts lol

Stephen grew up in Pittsburgh; so everything associated with living in Pittsburgh is reference in the book. It also happens that the book also tackles almost every issue that people experience in their lives as well. It is very is easy to make parallels with this book with other situations. That is why, I think, so many people can connect with this book.

Emma’s certainly right about Harry Potter fans being older(I myself am 25. I still can’t believe so much time has passed). The series began in the late 90’s which is when most people began following the series, and the first film came out in 2001. Heck, look at Emma. She was a little girl back then and now she’s a beautiful woman. Of course there are new younger fans who got into it later and there will be more in the future, but the bulk of us started all the way back then.

Chris, you probably read that on here since it was mentioned in a previous update. I was thinking the same thing when saw “Penn State”. Then again it’s a major recent event so that’s pretty much what most people are going to think about when they hear or see Penn State mentioned.
