Richard Griffiths Dies at 65

Actor Richard Griffiths passed away yesterday from complications following heart surgery at age 65. He had a long and honored career, but was probably best known to Harry Potter fans as Harry’s uncle, Vernon Dursley. He also appeared with Emma Watson as Great Uncle Matthew in the 2007 BBC film Ballet Shoes.

Our condolences to Richard Griffiths’ family and friends.

    Wow, what a surprise.He was a terrific actor, and very well loved by the other Potter cast members. I hope they all find peace and comfort, as well as his family.

    I can’t believe this! He was such a brilliant actor. I didn’t see this news until today, because I was on Spring Break. He will live on forever in the hearts of Harry Potter fans, fans of him, friends, family and all of the productions that he was in. Truly a sad time. May he R.I.P. and keep performing well on the other side.
