People Tree released new images and a video today from their Spring/Summer 2011 collaboration with Emma Watson. This is Emma’s third and final collection and will officially launch on February 28 to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight. A special mail order catalogue will feature these photos of Emma modeling the clothes. The collection includes clothing for guys and girls and is available for purchase online here.
“I designed the collection last year after I’d started university in the US. Safia, People Tree’s founder, and Misato, People Tree’s designer, came out to work with me in Rhode Island. Together we decided on all the colours, fabrics, shapes and craft skills. Most of all, we took care to design a really wearable collection that truly celebrates the traditional skills of People Tree’s Fair Trade groups around the world.” – Emma Watson.
The images can be seen in high quality in our gallery, and the video is below.
In a tweet yesterday, Emma mentioned attending the Downing Street reception for British fashion. The party, hosted by Samantha Cameron at 10 Downing Street, didn’t attract much press apparently. Finally a picture of Emma has come out on Vogue.com. Here is Emma with Vogue editor Meredith Melling Burke.
We have a few new outtakes from Emma’s photoshoot for Evening Standard back in 2005. These first three are small, but that first one is so cute. Thanks to RupertGrint.net for digging these up. You can see them all in the gallery.
And thanks to IHeartWatson for a couple more, in medium size.
We have even more outtakes from the photoshoot for the July 2009 Entertainment Weekly. These are also only MQ, but they are all individual shots of Emma. Here are a few as a teaser, and I will have several more up in the gallery later today. Thanks again to our partner RupertGrint.net.
Update: Added a few more pics here and added them all to the gallery.
In another interview from the Elle Style Awards, Emma talks about why she chose to sign on for the role of Sam in the movie Perks of Being a Wallflower. Emma has said she gets a lot of scripts to read, but it takes something special to capture her interest. Emma says “I really like, just loved and identified with the script, when I read it, and it just made me laugh, and Sam is the character I play. She’s a really special girl, and I’m really excited to be part of it … I’m really looking forward to doing a different character, it’s a movie which deals with difficult subject matter, and I’m just real excited that we got funding to make it, and I think it’s going to be great.”
The March issue of the US Vogue has our first look at the clothing line Emma designed with Alberta Ferretti. “Pure Threads” is ‘an environmentally friendly line of bohemian dresses, lace-embroidered denim, and an ultra-feminine blouse.’ “The collection is completely organic, from the picking and spinning of our cottons to the washing, weaving and dyeing of our textiles”, says Ferretti. She asked Emma to collaborate with her after she saw Emma’s People Tree collection last year. Emma quickly agreed. “I’m happy to encourage anyone interested in making conscientious clothing from raw, sustainable materials, so much that I’ll work for free.” Thanks to Stephanie and The Stylist Site.
It’s a short month, and this is abit late. Let’s start the calendar competition.
